lauren moffatt. (sale!)

pssst. a nice little memorial day sale going on over at lauren moffatt. shop your hearts out, friends.

getaway girl (revisited): san antonio.

hi, friends. i got lost daydreaming of a million places this week, so i couldn't pick just one.

i hadn't really planned on subjecting y'all to another 'go thunder!' post, but since they head to one of my favorite weekend getaways on sunday, i thought why not?

BUT, i was lazy, so you just get this one, pulled from the getaway girl archives.

margaritas and tex-mex never go out of style, and, while this ensemble's a little on the bright side (san antonio is a bright city!), i think it's still a winning combo, too.

inspired by... otomi print.

so this magical textile created by the otomi people of mexico has made its way alllll over the design blogosphere in recent years

headboards! bedspreads! lampshades!

but, despite seeing it all over the place, i haven't tired of it yet.

... which is why i was especially excited to see the pattern emerge in a wearable form à la this incredible dress from mara hoffman. she's used the print in a number of different looks, too. but i think this bustier dress takes la torta.

who doesn't like a little mexicana?

also shown:
+ scarf, theodora & callum
+ earrings and necklace, asos
+ sunglasses, irregular choice
+ bag, jadetribe

in the mood for... candy colors.

happy monday, everyone. i hope everyone is having a sweet (ha.) day.

+ dress, mulberry (look at these pretty shots from their recent campaign.)
+ umbrella (a longtime favorite), raindrops
+ earrings, nora kogan (formerly st. kilda, another longtime favorite)

getaway girl: los angeles.

i'm not a sporty person. i don't care one bit about football. and i only tolerate baseball because i like hot dogs and beer, and ice cream in little plastic hats, and 'a league of their own.'

but the oklahoma city thunder? i am a fan, y'all. a real sports fan. i read sports stories. and watch games. five-years-ago caroline would have scoffed at the idea. straight-up scoffed at it.

but here i am, pretend-getting away to los angeles for games 3 and 4 against the lakers. that's a true fan, guys.

thunder up—yeah, we really do say that here in okc—and have a winning weekend, friends.

+ skirt, chinti and parker
+ t-shirt, edith miller
+ sunglasses, kate spade
+ tote, fieldguided (kate bush lyrics, nba basketball, whatever... i'm not sure why i don't own it yet.)
+ earrings, bluma project
+ ring, the rogue and the wolf (a rumble ring! ha!)
+ sandals, madewell

gypsy.

i've long admired kate ruggiero's gypsy line of lovely underthings. her collection (now expanded to include swimwear) is handmade in hawaii in what i like to imagine is a perfect little beach hut workshop—because that's what hawaiian dreams are made of, yeah?

and, like in seasons past, photographer extraordinaire daeja fallas has captured the magic that is gypsy in the dreamiest way.

and, as usual, i can't stop looking at the beautiful shots, wishing i owned every piece and cursing the fact that i don't have a model's butt.

in the mood for... a summer blazer.

just checking in to present to you three lovely ladies, in three incredible blazers, on this third day of the week.

1. maison scotch ... 2. thakoon ... 3. pencey standard

i've been in a bit of a rut lately. can anyone recommend any new up-and-coming designers they're loving? or maybe you've got an artsy friend who's doing something amazing? please let me know. i need some inspiration!

alexis russell.

i'm obsessed. especially with these... they're garnets, if you can believe it. and all this time i thought i was stuck with a boring birthstone. little did i know uvarovite garnets have been waiting for me my whole life.

antik batik.

happy quatro de mayo, friends! and happy may 1, 2 and 3 as well—i've been trying to keep away from the computer this week in an effort to get some other stuff done (i didn't).

you haven't missed much, but getaway girl did take a little trip over on jillian's cornflake dreams. istanbul! can you imagine? you should go check it out and take a little fantasy trip to turkey with me.

over at cornflake dreams, you'll find this pretty embroidered top. but i'll be straight with you: i'll take any of the others, as well.

i love the little girl versions, too... especially this one. i want it in my size!
