living in the moment: kauai. (a sponsored post.)

if your vacation priorities are a lot like mine, you relish the idea of sitting back with a cocktail in hand, sinking your toes into the sand, and doing absolutely nothing. but, your mind can’t help but wander and, soon, you want to see everything else your destination has to offer. so, why not walk the line between relaxation and adventure with a little exploring? Kauai—Hawaii’s aptly named garden isle—offers plenty of opportunities for you, my like-minded friend. between soaking up the sun and sucking down the mai tais, take in the tropical flora at any of the island’s colorful oases and preserves, or brush up on your Hawaiian agricultural history with a tour of one of the state’s many sugar plantations. maybe we’re not quite ready for surf lessons or volcano trekking—but, luckily for us, there’s an entire world of discovery hidden inside this historic little isle.

  1. We almost went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, but ended up going to Italy. I still want to go to Hawaii someday; my husband went a couple of times as a kid and loved it.
