getaway girl: charleston, s.c.

this was another busy week, friends, but soon things will settle down for the summer, i hope. wishing everyone a happy memorial day weekend.

senso.

i can't imagine wearing boots for the next few months, but these are a dream. i really have to find a way to have them.

ruche.

i think the most recent lookbook by ruche might be the most magical i've seen in a long time. take a look for yourself if you haven't already. it reminds me of 'the notebook' — complete with the handsome redford type.

how devastated am i, though, that this is out of stock... i'm hoping they'll get some more in because i'm pretty sure i was born to wear it.

getaway girl: reader's choice.

it's been one of those weeks, if you couldn't tell. i've had a nonstop headache that still won't quit, and work's been insano. i suppose i can mostly thank the thunder for the busy-at-work part — i won't complain about that. either way, the mix of everything and nothing at all has left my brain fried for the week. clearly, to the point of not making sense.

so, i'll leave this week's getaway up to you guys. where do you want to go? where do you see this outfit? any requests for future getaway girls? just drop me a line!

i hope everyone has a nice, relaxing weekend... i'm looking forward to recharging without feeling the guilt of not blogging, which has happened every day this week. then, come monday, i'll have my a-game back.

getaway girl: memphis, tenn.

why memphis? to watch the thunder wrap up this series, of course! go oklahoma city!

is anyone else paying attention to the nba playoffs? who are you rooting for? it's ok if it's not the thunder. i'll understand.

scout & catalogue.

so, i couldn't help it. had to have the zig-zag one. i am the worst saver ever. having money in my paypal is like having a hole in my pocket.

but how could i resist?

These totes are limited edition - once the fabric (sheet, curtain, tablecloth) is gone there is no way for us to replace it. ... Scout & Catalogue is heavily influenced by the bohemian beach culture of Mexico. We strive to make pieces that remind you of afternoons at secret beaches, sun kissed skin, and all day siestas.

yes, i'll take that, thanks. hurry, mailman, hurry.

RACHEL rachel roy.

a few looks to love from RACHEL rachel roy. i love this line of hers.

welcome, sponsor: jean jean vintage.

i've been holding out on y'all for a couple weeks now, waiting to introduce one of greedy girl's newest sponsors. it's mainly because i've been going back and forth over whether i need that really, really amazing sterling cuff, and i didn't want to introduce any competition while it was under consideration. but, alas, i'll share my greedy little secret:

jean jean vintage.

i'm kind of lazy when it comes to vintage anything. i'm not the digging type. i like to have a special selection curated for me. something nice and clean and organized.

so, that's where jean jean vintage comes in. the shop's collection ranges from the intricate to the obscure to the strange — in a good way, of course.

in addition to having an uncanny talent for spotting the diamonds in the rough, shop owner duff enjoys "cleaning things with tiny brushes." so see? she wants to do the dirty work for you.

also? her mission is pretty admirable:

"i'm trying to rescue pretty necklaces, rings, earrings and other baubles from the dusty antique malls and attics of the midwest and get them to new, happy homes where they can live for another 20, 40, 80 years."

thank you, jean jean!

(also be sure to check out old-favorites-but-new-sponsors dear golden vintage and dressing on the side!)

getaway girl: washington, d.c.

i had a hard time deciding on a destination for getaway girl this week. in the end, i decided on somewhere somewhat sentimental in honor of mother's day: washington, d.c., where my mom lived when i was born. she loved being there the couple years she and my dad were there when she was about my age. the eating and the drinking, the history, the daytrips to monticello, walking through georgetown pregnant with me. things she still talks about and remembers fondly.

so, thanks to her, i love the city, too, for being big city and small town at the same time. come to think of it, my mom, grandma and i celebrated mother's day there four years ago. wow, time flies.

loup charmant.

this is how i'd like my summer to look. and my hair, for that matter. now i'm inspired to go pick up some great cotton and make magic with it. but not that kind of magic. because i can't do that. or, i could just save my pennies, and get myself one of those lovely dresses. that sounds easier. this one is especially beautiful on the model.

in the mood for... skirts to die for.

amazing raffia skirt by matthew williamson and awe-inspiring volcano skirt from carven. you see that lava at the bottom, don't you?

getaway girl: london.

it turns out that this never actually published last week. so, i give it to you now. three days late to a wedding nearly three decades in the making. that sounds about right.

...

so you can be sure that if i'd been invited to the royal nuptials, i'd have had fun with it. but since i wasn't, i suppose i'll just save this for a rainy day.
