acrimony.

some things i wouldn't mind in my closet...

i found a similar sweatshirt-style dress at target today, but i have to stalk all the other stores to get my size. loved it. (and didn't find it online but it's part of the converse line.)

a giveaway: hansel from basel donegal tights.

i'm really excited to announce this giveaway courtesy of kind boutique, a devoted and generous greedy girl sponsor. the prize? adorable hansel from basel KNEEPAD tights. i love the kneepad part. and the heathery, multicolored specks part, too.

it's an easy score for one lucky reader... you'd be smart to enter. plus? all of us get a 20 percent discount on anything in the store through next monday, when the giveaway ends. so if payday didn't just happen for you, you have a chance after this friday. (don't worry... it's how i roll, too.)

here are the details:

the giveaway:
a pair of hansel from basel donegal tights in any color (i'm partial to the gray with pink and navy with gray, but click the image to see your options)

the discount:
20 percent off everything (including sale items) with code GREEDYGIRL, good through nov. 22

when:
today through monday, nov. 22

how to enter:
1. visit kind boutique, and leave a comment telling me about some of your favorites from the shop. also leave your e-mail address or a way for me to contact you.
2. 'like' kind boutique on the facebook, and leave a comment here saying you do so. leave your e-mail address or a way for me to contact you.

how to get up to two extra entries:
choose up to two of the following... follow kind boutique on twitter, become a facebook fan, blog about the giveaway, or sign up for the shop's newsletter (right side of the page). simply note your extra efforts by leaving a separate comment for each, for a possible total of three entries. again, leave your e-mail address or a way for me to contact you.

what else you should know:
the giveaway is open to everyone, u.s. or abroad. kind boutique is very kind like that.

easy peasy, guys. don't let me down.

stay tuned every day this week for a new look featuring the tights. the possibilities are endless! thank you, kind boutique!

calypso st. barth, part two.

sorry! i love a good khaki & gray combo and had to share some more calypso finds.

calypso st. barth.

it's ridiculous, but this hat is at the top of my winter wishlist. i'll take the other things, too.

svenskt tenn.

bag, doorstop, wallet, pillow... i want all of it (especially the wallet).

plus, all their gorgeous fabrics. want those too.

(p.s. sorry for leaving y'all hanging... started feeling less than awesome. hope everyone has a good weekend.)

leah duncan. (+calendar swap update.)

love this one. (via size too small.)

if you signed up for the calendar swap, you should have received your swapmate's details last week. if you haven't yet or if you have any questions, just get in touch with kelly or me. we ended up with a little over 130 swappers from all over. we saw lots of you from all over... mostly americans, as was expected, but still a lot from other places, especially australia and spain. thanks to everyone who signed up, and we hope you have a fun time picking out (and getting!) a new calendar.

odette ny.

hello, foxy thing.

fancy french cologne.

five reasons to fall in love with new-to-me shop (thanks, kate), fancy french cologne.

1. amazing funktional dress. you saw the zipper front? and racerback back?
2. triangle top from tulle and blouse from line & dot.
3. purposely holey sweater from cheap monday. have i mentioned that i go through sweaters likeTHAT because my elbows are so pointy? or, really, just my left elbow. it's a shame. this sweater, though? it rocks. and the model's kind of kick ass tatt makes it that much cooler.
4. stripey, gathery dress from aryn k. easy.
5. silky, backless dress from funktional. can they do no wrong?

shop cuffs.

aside from being envious of anyone who looks like this, i'm also envious of anyone who can pull off these types of puffy-shouldered shirts. in fact, i might not have been a fan of such shirts until i saw one styled like this.

libby story.

sequins galore (have to have this jacket) + a hobo bag collection i'd kill for + shoes i need = new favorite shop.

what's a new favorite you've stumbled upon lately?

loup.

really fun looks from loup, don't you think? love that they're all mid-air shots.

Loup proudly continues on to its third season and is expanding from its original vision of fashionable tennis apparel to focus on comfortable and modern women's wear. Loup is revisiting the past in a modern light. This season is all about creating effortless fashion for every woman, where each garment is ready to wear, easy to care for, and perfect for any occasion.

i like that.

even better? take 15 percent off your entire purchase until the end of the year. just enter 'holiday' at checkout.

and, on a related note, i'm going to steal this really genius idea. it just looks like so much fun.

le mont st. michel.

i cannot get this cape out of my head. i really am not kidding when i say i could wear a cape every day for the rest of my life. (who remembers this plaid wool cape from paul & joe's target line? still a staple in my wardrobe, four years later.)

p.s. did you know about this? i like.

t by alexander wang tank, marc by marc jacobs satchel, seychelles boots, suede (!) legging by rika, lion and lamb ring by elisa solomon.

wintercheck factory. (+ a calendar swap update.)

you've seen 'a league of their own,' right? i hope you have. it's easy enough to draw inspiration from the 40s frocks and coiffures (think 'all the way mae'), but i've always loved geena davis' character's style at the very beginning.

and this line reminds me of that. inspired by women's workwear during world war II, the pieces are all made in limited runs — and cost under $100.

please sign me up. and call me rosie.

...

a calendar swap update... i got through about half of the pairings before falling asleep (so many of you signed up!). so if you haven't yet gotten the e-mail with your swapmate's details, give me one more day.

i also want to say thank you to everyone who signed up. there were nearly 130 participants from all over the world. also thank you to ms. design crush for co-hosting the swap with me again.

cursive design.

hope everyone had a happy halloween weekend... i did. lots of candy, zombies and relaxing. and how was yours? did you have a wonderfully unique costume? if so, take a second and tell me about it.

really coveted necklace here... another by cursive design.

a calendar a day every so often: alex wijnen.

i know. a calendar a day turned into a-calendar-a-day-for-a-week-then-more-like-a-calendar-a-week. i have a feeling you guys already sniffed out the good ones yourselves.

but here's one more, a sweet illustrated one from pdx-er alex wijnen.

now... two more days. that's all i'll say.

happy thursday. (+ a really, really important calendar swap reminder.)

love these updated takes on utilitarian classics... don't you? i've had my eye on that bridge & burn castle coat for a while now. and the seavees offshore boots are pretty right, too. and, ok... i'll take the timex watch from j.crew while i'm at it.

now, that really, really important calendar swap reminder i promised:

if you haven't signed up yet for the calendar swap, i know exactly who you are. exactly. who. you. are. so go sign up now. and why not tell a friend or two to do the same? or, heck, even better... spread the news on your blog or twitter. i'll make it easy for you — here's a short url: http://bit.ly/aWHM08. copy. paste. tweet. voila. everyone's happy in 2011.

have YOU signed up yet?

guyssss...

you've only got a few more days to join in the calendar swap fun. nearly 100 of you from all over the world have signed up already, but kelly and i know some of you are holding out.

now is the time. right now. we want to hear from you.

p.s. have you heard genius alec baldwin's npr pledge drive promos? i like him. he is funny.

erica weiner.

this ring is made from an antique wax seal (hence the backwardsness of the words) and dotted with a tiny orange sapphire. isn't it sweet?

also, i think these victor hugo cufflinks are kind of awesome.

happy monday.

i picked up this sweater cape for an amazing $16 this weekend at old navy. you heard right. sixteen.

if i could wear it with all of the following, i know for sure i'd never wear anything else... the shoes (sessun), the levi's, the suede bag (with tiny perforations that i adore), the braided belt, the cuff by dream collective, and the chanel polish in khaki brun.

near perfection, yes?

sessun.

not only are these images a feast for the eyes, the music on the site starts with mazzy star. talk about setting the mood perfectly. actually, all of it makes for a pretty good monday morning mix.

and, the clothes, of course... those are quite right, too. tres chic*.

*my limited french and trying to navigate their lovely site reminded me i need to get back into my rosetta stone. i'm so glad it's finally fall and i feel like doing things again... summer bums me out, man. i'm ready to learn!

net-a-porter.

i'll leave you for the week with some of these net-a-porter pretties. sigh. i know i say this a lot, but if i could... i'd love to own completely unreasonable amounts of silky beauties like these. there'd be no more wal-mart panties and target bras. i'm pretty sure it'd make me a much better person, too.

a calendar a day, no. 9: seesaw letterpress.

LOVE LOVE LOVE.

(via for me, for you.)

PSSSST. don't forget to sign up for the calendar swap. it needs you.

zara.

i know, i know. nothing new here, but i had to share my favorites. i wish i could pull that second look off without looking like a librarian (the bad, stereotypical kind).

also... do you know how much i wish cable-knit shorts were in my future?

now, let's discuss how i can make that hair happen.

zara (baby).

baaaabies.

sorry (joe). i can't help it. everyone's having them!

a calendar a day, no. 8: kate spade.

a kate spade wall calendar that comes in UNDER the calendar swap rules and regulations' suggested value? you might need to pick up something for yourself, too.

my apologies for a calendar a day turning into more like a calendar every four days. good thing design crush is on top of her game... we'll piggyback off her calendar roundups to get caught up.

PSSSST. don't forget to sign up for the calendar swap. it needs you.

kate spade.

smart black trench and chic jeans with PINK stitching... i am a fan.
