sorry! i got started on her work and couldn't stop...
plus, i was happy to see these new-to-me prints. don't you love them?
so much in love with the work of brooklyn designer amy mccormick. wouldn't you love to rock this top every day? or throw on these pretty pleats for your next party? i would. i'd also like that model's fiona apple looks, but beggars can't be choosers, can they?
check out swirl's sample sale of amyclaire wares next tuesday. don't forget to mark your calendars — and sign up for swirl if you haven't yet!
i've always liked peggy wolf's illustrations, so i'm kind of stoked to see a calendar from her.

when i first saw thise crazy green and white sequined number, i wasn't so sure. then five seconds passed. and now? i've never been more sure of anything. if i was a size 0 AND i had three grand just hanging around waiting to be spent on a crazy green and white sequined number... well, you know how it goes.
and, to be clear, i'd also take any of the other three. they aren't so bad either. that oaxacan-esque dress is muy bonita, what with those sleeves and all.

i love how margot-and-richie-tenenbaum-in-the-african-wing-of-the-public-archives these are.
p.s. what's your favorite movie? 'tenenbaums' is mine (with 'rushmore' coming in really close behind that).

this party on a necklace would improve my mood on so many days, i am sure of it.
(spotted on we shall not cease from exploration. i am looking forward to baked goods, warm liquids and movie nights, as well.)

these are some great looks by up-and-coming new york brand whit, but it's this feathery headpiece that is really sticking in my mind. where can i find that?
and ok, i'll take the dress and the sweater, too. if i have to. and, while we're at it, how about we throw in this entire look.
have you heard about the girl behind whit? i like her story. nothing fancies up a texas grad's bio like "the sorbonne" and "parsons." oh, the design background with kate spade and steven alan isn't bad either.
go team whit. i'll be watching out for more. but hopefully next time, you'll hook us up with some feathers of our own.

i have been chomping at the bit for calendar swap/roundup time, thanks to this calendar. i have no idea why i've not been aware of these from npr in past years. supporting public radio with an awesome calendar? love the idea and the artists:
What does NPR look like to you?
Each year we ask prominent American artists to answer that question in their favorite medium. This year’s calendar features 13 incredible images, each representing NPR in its own way, crafted by talented artists who are also loyal NPR listeners. An NPR product truly created by the listeners for the listeners.
The calendar measures 9 x 12" and has a pinhole for wall hanging. It is made with the environment in mind out of well-managed forests, controlled sources and recycled wood or fiber in the United States.
This year's artists are:
You Byun
Josh Cochran
The Heads of State
Andrew Holder
Jeremy Holmes
Gwenda Kaczor
Lab Partners
Christoph Neimann
Ed Parker
Jared Schorr
Matte Stephens
Junichi Tsuneoka
Jing Wei
so i'm pretty excited to announce the third annual calendar swap. for the second year, kelly of design crush and i have teamed up for for some serious calendar fun. the first year, i had nearly 50 people from all over the world sign up. last year, it was almost 90.
i hope you'll think about joining this year. here's how it will go down:
+ by oct. 30, e-mail calendarswap@gmail.com and answer the following:
1. what's your name?
2. what's your e-mail address?
3. what's your blog or website? or, if you don't have one of your own, what's your favorite blog?
4. what's your snail-mail address?
5. for u.s. readers, which do you prefer — an international or a stateside swapmate? or does it matter?
+ we'll pair you up and send your swapmate's details on or around nov. 1.
+ you must (MUST. REALLY. SERIOUSLY.) have your calendar sent by nov. 21.
some tips:
+ keep your calendar under $30 but no less than $20. and, since there are some perfectly lovely and super-affordable calendars out there, you might try throwing in a few small goodies if the value doesn't quite add up.
+ mall kiosk calendars (sudoku, lettuce babies, edward cullen, etc.) are not ok. just don't do it.
+ handmade is welcome — just keep in mind the $20-$30 suggested value.
+ check out your swapmate's web site or blog, or consider getting to know his or her tastes via e-mail, to get an idea of what he or she might like.
+ please, please, please send your calendar on time and do not drop the ball. it breaks our hearts to hear of someone waiting well into the new year for their calendar or, even worse, not receiving one at all.

just wanted to share these from alternative apparel's fall lookbook because, well, the girl is gorgeous. oh and i want that skirt.
remember when i was pretty sure this sweater would be the only thing i'd ever need in the world? well, i was right. i received a sample of the annie cowl neck from erin, of the alternative apparel team, and wow. the fit is amazing. the fabric is amazing. all in all (and for lack of a better word at 4 a.m.) — amazing.
it's perfect in a buy-it-in-every-color-and-wear-it-every-day kind of way. not kidding.
if you're not familiar with the brand and don't want to jump right into the buy-it-in-every-color-and-wear-it-every-day boat, start with a t-shirt. really. that's all it'll take. i promise you'll fall in love with everything about it. and, then, when you're ready... buy it in every color and — well, you know.
i'm really, really excited to announce the latest addition to my roster of wonderful sponsors: habitat shoes. perhaps you've heard of them? yes, i like to think i held out for the very best. and, only the best is what habitat offers:
chie mihara and loeffler randall? oh yes. frye and matt bernson? of course.
need something to wear and carry with those hot shoes? habitat can help in that department, too. think rachel comey and lauren merkin.
oh and i'm just saying... when habitat has a sale, habitat really has a sale.
so, let the shopping commence.
thanks to habitat for supporting greedy girl, and thanks to all my greedy girls who i know will give habitat some love.
p.s. i also kind of dig what they're all about. good people, if you ask me.
fall is finally here, friends. maybe it's still a little warm in the day time, but it's gotten downright chilly at night. it's perfection.
speaking of perfection, how would you love to live in this sweater? i'll take seven, thanks.
(also: proenza schouler bag, uniqlo jeans, frye boots, warby parker frames)

hooray for new prints from illustrator favorite judy kaufmann.
i LOVE the people in that middle print (see them up close). but, then again, you already know how much i love her little people.

isn't this perfect in so many ways? i'm really torn between the all-leather and the navy stars. which would you pick?
every so often, as you know, i come across something i just cannot live without. this ode to papel picado? this is what i cannot live without today. or, this month.
i need it. for dia de los muertos, which – in case you didn't know – is my secret favorite holiday. so see? i really need it. i won't even ask for anything else all month long. i've never needed anything more.
sidenote: did you know that ... when i was a kid, i was so greedy that i wanted everything i saw. (me? hard to believe, yes.) so, my parents enacted the "saturday present" rule. if i was able to not be greedy all week long, i'd get a present on saturday. ha. what good that did, right?

loving these looks on sale at gilt today, especially that dress on top. (and socks and shoes, especially.)
psst. you still aren't on gilt? fix that now.

i've tried, really. so hard. to get in that crisp, cool fall spirit. but it's so hard when every time i walk outside (it's the end of september, let me remind you), i feel like i'm drowning in an ocean of humid, hellish heat. it won't stop.
so you can see why i'm having a bit of a time getting in the crisp, cool fall spirit. i don't even want to wear clothes to work. i'd rather face the humiliation (and firing) than to walk outside with even the lightest layer on. because it instantly sticks to my skin. like a plastic bag too close to a hot pot on the stove. you see how it is.
so someone, please, make it stop.
i want to be thinking about this. it's too soon to give up on fall and move straight on to resortwear, isn't it?
know of something i might like, have a product you'd like featured or just want to send me lovely things?
just e-mail me at cd@iamagreedygirl.com.
