oh sweet shoes... be mine, won't you?

club monaco.

if you haven't already, you're probably going to want to scoot on over to the club monaco website. why? because garance dore shot the fall lookbook (and, it's amazing). also? there's a charming little video that will have you wanting to be byrdie bell in new york eating croissants.

just trust me.

gather jewelry.

don't you love it?

(as you see, i am still not over pretty beadwork.)

welcome, ruche!

i've been a big fan of ruche for so long that i'm over the moon to announce them as my newest sponsor. why i love them:

1. their selection is huge. seriously. just trying to get this post together took forever because i had the hardest time narrowing my favorites down.

2. their prices are insane. watch out, anthropologie. the tops at top (those are FOXES at the left, fyi)? right around $30 apiece. those dresses? no more than $40. the necklace and earrings? each under $15. no kidding.

and, finally, 3. i've found a substitute for my completely unaffordable alexander wang hankering. it's $50, and it's adorable.

i hope you'll head over to ruche right this second to give them a big greedy girl welcome. and you might also want to check out their blog because that's where you can find special discount codes. (and sign up for their e-mails, too.)

thank you so much to ruche for joining greedy girl's amazing group of sponsors.

out of print clothing.

so, i'll be honest. i judge books by their covers. not all the time. of course not. but most of the time? yes. definitely most of the time.

my favorites are the classics. you know, the ones that barnes & noble has printed really big.

that's why i was really pretty jazzed when i found out about out of print clothing. genius idea. if i could, i'd have them all. but my favorite? f. scott fitzgerald's tales of the jazz age. and i love the red cardigan girlie up there has paired it with.

oh but wait! i almost forgot the best part: they do good and donate one book for every shirt sold. i like that.

did you know to kill a mockingbird turned 50 this weekend? amazing. and... speaking of 50, did you know IRA GLASS is 51?! holy wow. i first discovered this via wit + delight, who discovered it via out of print's blog. full circle, folks!

bhalo.

oh my. print and perfection. (and big, chunky color.)

via darling dexter.

tucker by gaby basora.

i am really, really drawn to silk lately. maybe for the first time ever, though i don't know why that is. but these tops from gaby basora don't put up much of an argument against it, do they? it just looks so easy.

via pretty mommy.

canvas.

there is way too much to love going on at canvas. like that chair.

oh my god.

that chair.

via simple lovely.

makr carry goods.

i love these super-simple totes... and get this: today you can one for half off.no, really. half. thanks, lucky!

graham & green.

a few things i really, really don't need. but at the same time... i really, really need them.

the globe is, well, wow. and the bookshelves? i dig. and then you all know where i stand on postal ephemera.

bows.

kind of loving them. you're with me, right?

bow tote from soraam (via shiny squirrel), felix ray clutch, red valentino t-shirt (!), chinese laundry shoes (they're called sweet caroline...i like that), betsey johnson earrings, skirt from ruche.

annie greenabelle for topshop.

i know it's just the start of july, but i catch myself occasionally longing for a crisp, fall day.

... and then, i see dresses like these, and i wish summer would last forever. what do you think? over summer already?

happy fourth, part two.

i swear i'm really not so patriotic. but i came across this dress and wished i had ordered it in time to get down to main street* for the fourth of july parade. and then i found this semi-ridiculous hat that really couldn't be more perfect for the dress. and then, well, the clutch only seemed natural.

*i don't know what main street or parade i am speaking of, but you see my point. think mayberry.

hello!lucky.

are you getting married? i am not. but i have loved these invites since the day i first set eyes on them. we need a bridge in oklahoma city like the golden gate bridge so that these would make perfect sense for me to use.

until that happens, though, if you've got a wedding in your future, please enter to win this giveaway from hello!lucky. please!

they are giving away 50 of their digital invitations (which, i believe, they recently launched and are a brilliant idea for the cost-conscious couple). just click on over there and leave a comment by july 12.

via (recently re-established san franciscoan!) kathryn of snippet & ink.

happy july 4.

i hope everyone has a happy one.

v-neck from calypso st. barth, miu miu flats (denim!), scarf from hayden-harnett, hilarious wartime print from wallblank, fun pom poms, skirt from les nouvelles.

lauren moffatt.

i want to live in lauren moffatt's world. who wouldn't, with product names like the meandering in marrakkesh dress or the somewhere in stockholm on a bike with a basket romper or the caught by a blustery breeze in belize blouse?

i can say with no doubt whatsoever that i'd like to be doing all of the above.

caroline seikaly.

how have i not ever come across designer caroline seikaly? apparently she is big and famous and i've been living under a rock. but WOW. look what i've missed under my rock. and this isn't even part of her actual bridal collection.

speaking of the bridal collection, the caroline and carla are my favorites. you'll just have to click on over there since i can't link to them directly. and, while you're visiting, you'll probably need to take a peek at her fall collection. it's like beetlejuice meets badgley mischka (or, what i like to call, PERFECTION).

alex & eli.

to usher in the cold front that will be sweeping through the state today, i thought we could all ogle these rich fall looks. (i love how the lips and nails lighten up the dark clothes.)

question: do you let your toenails go naked? i can't stand for mine not to be painted.

noir jewelry.

i know, i know. it's entirely possible these pieces are already hidden somewhere on the blog.

but, if they are, so what? i still like 'em.

beaded and bright... my favorite.

pearl river, part two.

despite all my pearl river excitement, i was really disappointed to see they have only a fraction of what they used to (online, at least). when i was shopping for the parasol you see at the top, i had a nearly impossible time just picking one from pearl river's selection. and now... well, they just don't have what they used to.

but after scouting out some more options from other vendors, i think i might be ready to switch this one out. should i go simple, or stay with something traditional? i think that white & green one looks kind of hollywood. and i like that.

decisions, decisions...

p.s. pearl river no longer carries the one i have but this place does.

pearl river.

today i went crazy at pearl river — and spent an insane $11. not on the things above, though. well, yes, i did get the powder ($2.50!), but i couldn't rationalize the tray (no space) and the pillow was out of stock. but wouldn't it make a perfect picnic nap pillow?

i did snatch up a few paper fans to stash in my bag because, GUYS, the heat is killing me. (hence the need for the powder. ew i am gross.)

ann taylor LOFT.

i've always liked ann taylor LOFT, but you've got to admit that lately, they've been upping the ante and giving j.crew* a run for its money. don't you agree?

*um, go to j.crew now and watch the most adorable video you've ever seen. you'll be wanting to dance pantsless in no time. then, you'll go find your orange lipstick. and then, you'll curse yourself for not being a j.crew model.

lesley sico.

i'll take a ticket to each of these places: playa del carmen, new york and paris.

please. and soon.

or, at least, i'll take the prints from lesley sico's etsy shop. so pretty, i can't stop staring and daydreaming. absolutely in love. and in need of a vacation.

oh, and how great is this one? so minty and french and delicious. and wouldn't it be pretty placed near my green paris prints from little brown pen? yes. you're right.

[updated: thank you, lesley, for offering free shipping to the ladies (and gents) of greedy girl! just mention greedy girl at checkout! (good through july 15.)]

petit bateau.

yes and yes. i'll take both.

also, this dress, which i regret to say is impossible to view via their website. from what i can tell, the back looks amazing (love that little snap in the back).

i do want you to know i spent an hour piecing all the little zoom images together. then, finally, when i finished, the stripes just made it look too zany. so, you'll just have to go look for yourself.

eshakti.

so my friend grace recently passed along this site to me. you know how sometimes you have the simplest dress in mind but for whatever reason, you can't find it anywhere? and it's the most frustrating thing in the world?

well, that's where this shop comes in handy. simple dresses, a variety of colors, customizable ... AND (best part) in sizes 0 through 26. no, but seriously.

might be a good place to check if you're looking for inexpensive bridesmaid dresses. i'm excited to hear about grace's luck with the dresses she ordered... i might have to place an order or two myself.

has anyone else had any experience with the site? please do share!

nirrimi.

remember when you were 17 and you were taking amazing photos of beautiful people and hanging out at the beach and staying at cute boys' houses and having great hair and listening to amazing music* and were otherwise awe-inspiring?

yeah, that wasn't me either. i only wish i could have been that cool. probably would've kept me out of some trouble. (or at least, the cool kind of trouble.)

but don't these photos BY A 17-YEAR-OLD make you want to relive those years? i'd do a few things differently, for sure. more sun, more sea. and i'd have lots and lots of model-esque friends.

find more of nirrimi's photos here. or here. and prepare to be disappointed with your teenage years.

*i just included the music bit because the song is on repeat way too often around my place lately. can't stop listening to it.

jade?
alexander...
do you remember that day you fell out of my window?
i sure do — you came jumping out after me
well, you fell on the concrete and nearly broke your ass, and you were bleeding all over the place, and i rushed you out to the hospital... do you remember that?
yes, i do.
well, there's something i never told you about that night.
what didn't you tell me?
while you were sitting in the backseat, smoking a cigarette you thought was gonna be your last... i was falling deep, deeply in love with you, and i never told you til just now.

i die every single time.

p.s. i am almost certain i posted that top photo some time ago without having a clue who shot it. or, it's been hiding out in my inspiration folder for too long. either way, glad i found this young'un's work.
