how have i not ever come across designer caroline seikaly? apparently she is big and famous and i've been living under a rock. but WOW. look what i've missed under my rock. and this isn't even part of her actual bridal collection.

speaking of the bridal collection, the caroline and carla are my favorites. you'll just have to click on over there since i can't link to them directly. and, while you're visiting, you'll probably need to take a peek at her fall collection. it's like beetlejuice meets badgley mischka (or, what i like to call, PERFECTION).

pearl river, part two.

despite all my pearl river excitement, i was really disappointed to see they have only a fraction of what they used to (online, at least). when i was shopping for the parasol you see at the top, i had a nearly impossible time just picking one from pearl river's selection. and now... well, they just don't have what they used to.

but after scouting out some more options from other vendors, i think i might be ready to switch this one out. should i go simple, or stay with something traditional? i think that white & green one looks kind of hollywood. and i like that.

decisions, decisions...

today i went crazy at pearl river — and spent an insane $11. not on the things above, though. well, yes, i did get the powder ($2.50!), but i couldn't rationalize the tray (no space) and the pillow was out of stock. but wouldn't it make a perfect picnic nap pillow?

i did snatch up a few paper fans to stash in my bag because, GUYS, the heat is killing me. (hence the need for the powder. ew i am gross.)

i've always liked ann taylor LOFT, but you've got to admit that lately, they've been upping the ante and giving j.crew* a run for its money. don't you agree?

also, this dress, which i regret to say is impossible to view via their website. from what i can tell, the back looks amazing (love that little snap in the back).

i do want you to know i spent an hour piecing all the little zoom images together. then, finally, when i finished, the stripes just made it look too zany. so, you'll just have to go look for yourself.

so my friend grace recently passed along this site to me. you know how sometimes you have the simplest dress in mind but for whatever reason, you can't find it anywhere? and it's the most frustrating thing in the world?

well, that's where this shop comes in handy. simple dresses, a variety of colors, customizable ... AND (best part) in sizes 0 through 26. no, but seriously.

might be a good place to check if you're looking for inexpensive bridesmaid dresses. i'm excited to hear about grace's luck with the dresses she ordered... i might have to place an order or two myself.

remember when you were 17 and you were taking amazing photos of beautiful people and hanging out at the beach and staying at cute boys' houses and having great hair and listening to amazing music* and were otherwise awe-inspiring?

yeah, that wasn't me either. i only wish i could have been that cool. probably would've kept me out of some trouble. (or at least, the cool kind of trouble.)

but don't these photos BY A 17-YEAR-OLD make you want to relive those years? i'd do a few things differently, for sure. more sun, more sea. and i'd have lots and lots of model-esque friends.

i've gotten bitten by the motorcycle bug, you see. and i love these honda super cubs. they're like little macarons on wheels. unfortunately, they seem to be available everywhere but the states. so i'm going to have to move.

in the meantime... my daydreams will look a lot like this.
