petit bateau.

yes and yes. i'll take both.

also, this dress, which i regret to say is impossible to view via their website. from what i can tell, the back looks amazing (love that little snap in the back).

i do want you to know i spent an hour piecing all the little zoom images together. then, finally, when i finished, the stripes just made it look too zany. so, you'll just have to go look for yourself.

so my friend grace recently passed along this site to me. you know how sometimes you have the simplest dress in mind but for whatever reason, you can't find it anywhere? and it's the most frustrating thing in the world?

well, that's where this shop comes in handy. simple dresses, a variety of colors, customizable ... AND (best part) in sizes 0 through 26. no, but seriously.

might be a good place to check if you're looking for inexpensive bridesmaid dresses. i'm excited to hear about grace's luck with the dresses she ordered... i might have to place an order or two myself.

has anyone else had any experience with the site? please do share!

nirrimi.

remember when you were 17 and you were taking amazing photos of beautiful people and hanging out at the beach and staying at cute boys' houses and having great hair and listening to amazing music* and were otherwise awe-inspiring?

yeah, that wasn't me either. i only wish i could have been that cool. probably would've kept me out of some trouble. (or at least, the cool kind of trouble.)

but don't these photos BY A 17-YEAR-OLD make you want to relive those years? i'd do a few things differently, for sure. more sun, more sea. and i'd have lots and lots of model-esque friends.

find more of nirrimi's photos here. or here. and prepare to be disappointed with your teenage years.

*i just included the music bit because the song is on repeat way too often around my place lately. can't stop listening to it.

jade?
alexander...
do you remember that day you fell out of my window?
i sure do — you came jumping out after me
well, you fell on the concrete and nearly broke your ass, and you were bleeding all over the place, and i rushed you out to the hospital... do you remember that?
yes, i do.
well, there's something i never told you about that night.
what didn't you tell me?
while you were sitting in the backseat, smoking a cigarette you thought was gonna be your last... i was falling deep, deeply in love with you, and i never told you til just now.

i die every single time.

p.s. i am almost certain i posted that top photo some time ago without having a clue who shot it. or, it's been hiding out in my inspiration folder for too long. either way, glad i found this young'un's work.

happy (colorful) weekend.

i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend & a great father's day.

at top: apc madras dress, lacoste sun hat, wanderlust scarf from madewell.

&, the most amazing-looking cake i've ever seen in my entire life. (thanks to rachel thurston for changing my life with it.)

karen zambos.

though i could never pull this off (i'm a ways away from silk and my body having a friendly relationship), but man i wish i could.

p.s. there is a karen zambos sale on gilt right now. what? you don't have an invite? here you go.

public.

don't you just want this to be you? tres chic. i'll definitely take one. or three.

black and white and graphic, too.

i am really, really digging that first pair from lucky brand. and those sam edelmans? kind of keen on those, too.

stay tuned for the return of regular posting this week!

lauren bacall.

just a little pretty to get your day started...

i don't normally post photos of undeniably gorgeous people (how depressing!), but i think it's easy to see why i couldn't not share these.

via the golden age of hollywood, a fellow fan of lucy. if you're not going to risk losing hours going through these beautiful photos (i did), then at least look at this one of carole lombard. wow.

no side up, part two.

i am not an 'it' bag person. unless it's this one. or the louis vuitton speedy.

but i'm thinking these these are a bit within my budget. a birkin and some chanel for under $100? yes. please.

AND. (the best part.) you can make a custom order.

no side up.

say hello to stella, chelsea and bridgett. i love these prints from barcelona-based artist (another one!) maria gil ulldemolins. aren't they pretty? and the stories accompanying each one are just as pretty:

She just had this feeling. It was more than a feeling, it was a sense of certainety. She knew today was going to be one of the best days of her life. She could smell the spring, the sun felt insistent from the other side of the window. She looked around her once more, before stepping outside. Swelling with happiness, she played Rodrigo and Gabriela louder on the iPod. She was almost bouncing down the street. Whatever was about to happen, she didn't know. But she knew it was good. She loved the world, and the world loved her.

i'd been admiring these amazing prints for a while now and am so glad to finally get them on here. don't you love them?

those coffee pots... oh, those coffee pots.

happy monday.

let's ignore all the logistics issues here (1. you can't ride a bike and carry a clutch; 2. that bodysuit could never contain what i've got going on up here; 3. sandals and motorcycles probably aren't recommended; 4. can you ride a motorcycle in a skirt? etc.) BUT i can't help but daydream about a fancy-free life zooming around with the sun on your shoulders and the wind in your hair.

i've gotten bitten by the motorcycle bug, you see. and i love these honda super cubs. they're like little macarons on wheels. unfortunately, they seem to be available everywhere but the states. so i'm going to have to move.

in the meantime... my daydreams will look a lot like this.

(apiece apart bodysuit, duskin skirt, worishofer shoes, les atelier ruby helmet, calypso st. barth clutch, honda super cub)

happy wednesday.

today, i want to be wearing this and i want to be here. or by any body of water, really.

(french connection dress, market bag from serene, bensimon lacets, sunglasses from topshop)

roxy.

yes, roxy. if you're like me, you hadn't given the brand much thought since you were 19 or so. (though i will admit i still am unable to throw out one very old, very floral and very small skirt.)

but, take a look at their lookbook... either i'm feeling like a kid again or roxy's grown up.

p.s. no fear for those of you who are young at heart... roxy still does the boardshorts (designed by cynthia rowley, no less).

bee raw.

man... i want to go on a picnic with wit + delight... did you see her guest post over at cup of jo? i am so on board... starting with that bike.

pretty pretty pretty. and tasty, too.

that honey, aside from its insanely simple and gorgeous packaging, looks incredible. and there are 10 varieties. AND they also sell them in flights of four. (or nine.) and wouldn't those little vials be perfect little wedding favors?

sign me up.

rike feurstein.

1. that girl's adorable.
2. i want her hat.

free people.

just a few things i am wanting...

starting with THOSE SHOES. they kill me. twelfth st. by cynthia vincent, of course.

and, that ring. magic. pure magic. oh, and the necklace is pretty, too, hm? the swimsuit (hotel bondi) isn't too shabby either.

while we're on the subject of pretty, this girl's hair this girl's hair* is my dream hair (comma shoulder-length category).

*they changed the link on me!

a look at seattle, part one.

ok! so! seattle was amazing. it is blazing hot and humid here in oklahoma city, and seattle provided a sweet reprieve... at least for a few days. that rachel thurston... i am eternally grateful.

this is just a little peek at our few days in the emerald city: pike place market, black bottle in belltown (i could have sat here all day and eaten everything); ace hotel (absolutely loved – thanks, matt & amy!), also in belltown; cafe presse in capitol hill; and cupcake royale in ballard.

coming up this weekend... a roundup of all we saw and did. (it involved a lot of eating, if you hadn't already guessed.)

lila stuempfig.

aren't these beaded earrings simply gorgeous? i especially love the pyramid pair. the design apparently is a replicated antique bauhaus textile pattern. like that!
