i dig her.
via the thinking tank.

who posted about this awesome skirt yesterday? actually, i saw the post yesterday but since i am 1,500 blog posts behind (seriously), who knows when it was actually written.
ok, i stopped being lazy and looked: helen hearts, of course.
ANYWAY. the skirt. wow.
trying to convince myself i won't need these for halloween. (or, let's face it... everyday macabre wear.)

really excited to launch the second giveaway to coincide with the great calendar swap of oh-ten... from oddball press!
last year i featured their '09 calendar in my calendar roundup and was more than excited to have received it as a gift for christmas. so i was especially delighted to see they were carrying on the same theme this year. i love spying something new every time i look at mine.
now, don't you want to win one?
leave an e-mail address in the comments for a chance. good through the end of the day friday.
and thank you so much, oddball press!
so i really lost track of time, and well, monday's over. ... which means it's time to announce the winner of the first (yes, first) calendar giveaway of the year.
the winner of the 2010 delphine letterpress calendar is...
jenni has her head in the clouds of object of my obsession. congratulations, jenni, and thank you all for participating. stay tuned for more giveaway fun here and at design crush.
and BIG THANKS to delphine for offering such a beautiful calendar. really. beautiful.
p.s. kelly has managed to dig up even more pretty calendars for her calendar roundup no. 5.
p.p.s. i'm not even going to ask if you've signed up for the swap.

hello.
my name is caroline.
and i have an addiction to cheap glasses.
thank you and say hello to my newest additions. this time i ordered from zenni optical, which is supposed to be the best in the cheap glasses universe.
and my total cost this time? $35 for both pairs. and that's only because i went all out with the $4.95 anti-reflective coating for both.
i'm pretty sure i'll be obsessed with the top pair since they are so similar to my current pair. i'm more skeptical about the more boring black pair, but i liked the angular detail on the top corners.
i'll let you know.
february. look at february. one month has sold me on this entire calendar.
via design crush's calender roundup no. 3.
surely by now you've signed up for our 2010 calendar swap. surely.
you have got to be kidding me because this is one amazing necklace. maybe i need to start a blog devoted solely to odd creature jewelry.
i won't lie... i'm already scouring ebay for an owl pendant whose head is just right. and, well, you know i like feathers.
p.s. how excited am i to see an eccentric accessories section on anthro?
this insane watch also comes in silver but WHY ON EARTH would you want to forgo faux gold & emerald?
via helen hearts (really fun, newish-to-me blog. but get this... on top of being adorable and hip, helen is also spending the semester in prague AND is blogging about it.)
i'm really excited to announce the first of several calendar giveaways kelly of design crush and i will be hosting to coincide with our 2010 calendar swap...
... the absolutely GORGEOUS letterpress work of delphine. i'll tell you straight up: you'll be a fool if you don't enter this one right away. all you have to do is leave an e-mail address in the comments by next monday, oct. 19. simple, right?
p.s. have you seen delphine's new digital invitation line? go. go now. well, after you enter the contest.
p.p.s. design crush may or may not offer a giveaway of the same sort. sure wouldn't hurt your chances to enter both.
i spied this on design crush's first 2010 calendar roundup and it instantly carved out a little soft spot in my heart.
p.s. you have signed up for our 2010 calendar swap, right?
because i was MIA yesterday, i didn't get around to letting you know i was featured over at bits of beauty with just a few of the things i need for a beautiful life.
thank you so much to jennifer for thinking of me and including me in the fun!
photo here.
last year, i had such success with the calendar swap, so i am pleased to announce the launch of the 2010 calendar swap. kelly of design crush and i teamed up together this year to make it bigger and better. so had over there now and learn how to sign up!
we've got giveaways lined up, and kelly's compiled the best of the best in 2010 calendars.
thank you again, kelly!

the genius behind missed connections illustrated has updated her shop. woot. i'm still very fond of "if not for your noisy tambourine." wouldn't it be fun to have three framed and in a row?
i think that top one is hilarious, what with the little asian girls surrounding her.

... it's october?
steven alan sweater | jcrew belt (kind of really obsessed with this. it's even brighter in the store) | bambako headband | all black sequin flat (really loving this brand right now)
these need to be on my feet. and SOON.
i may not be able to refrain from both. but for the sake of discussion... pink or black?
it's october! that means more than a few things. 1) it might actually start getting cooler outside. 2) it's halloween time. 3) it's my mom's birthday. and, 4) it's breast cancer awareness month.
while the first two are great and all, the last two mean a lot to me. now i am not one to get sappy and shit, but i've got a story to tell. (edited to add: i trimmed it down from a novel. you're welcome.)
five years ago, my mom was sick. and i was sad. well, we were both sad. i signed up to race for the cure (in all honesty, i slept in for the cure). i learned to like pink. and i started paying some attention to breast cancer awareness month. i feel very lucky to say that my mom is happy and well now. she even has perky, healthy new boobs to show for her months and months of surgeries and chemotherapy.
so this october...
...i'll try to appreciate and give thanks for my cumbersomely big (and healthy) boobs. i'll try not to curse them or even beg for kate moss's.
...i'll look forward to awful amounts of pink (i might even wear some) and uncomfortable boobie talk.
...and, we'll celebrate my mom's birthday. ... she'll be 53! (she'll love that i mentioned that.) happy (early) birthday, mommy!
p.s. on a whim, i created a susan g. komen fundraising page, something i'd never thought to do before. feel free to give. if not, no biggie. just promise me you'll go feel yourself up today.
p.p.s. you'd love to know about that headband, right? it's $28, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to susan g. komen for the cure. oh, and it's gorgeous. and pink.
/boobie talk
has my oxford wait finally paid off? because i want both. hurry, payday, so i can do some damage!
know of something i might like, have a product you'd like featured or just want to send me lovely things?
just e-mail me at cd@iamagreedygirl.com.
