au revoir!

ok, i lied about having a my take thursday for the week. just couldn't find the time.

tomorrow i am off to brussels with the family, and then my sweetheart will fly in to save my sanity, and we'll head to paris and amsterdam. i'll be in and out with posts and, though i hoped to never have to say this, you can probably keep up with me via twitter.

e-mail me if you come across anything you think i might like! and don't you forget about me while i am gone.

atomium in brussels via here.

my apologies.

i am going to postpone this week's my take thursday for a day or two. so i am sorry to cop out and give you another photo (albeit a pretty one).

i'm wrapping up a project at work and have been just slammed. i'll get back to it shortly!

emma watson.

i shouldn't idolize 19-year-olds.

but i do.

who else is excited about the new harry potter? i hadn't seen any of them until the last one, when i crammed them all into a week, and i loved them. so i've been anxiously awaiting this one.

say hello!

to my sweet new toy, which has already dropped $20 since monday. of course!

thanks to everyone who offered their suggestions way back when. i think i made a good decision! now... if anyone could recommend a good neoprene case?

tres fatigue.

i am exhausted and cannot really think straight anymore. i'll try to sprinkle in some excitement later today.

in the meantime, colors and patterns will have to do. and um, those shoes? they are awesome.

forever21 skirt | ruche top | dorothy perkins canvas shoes | modcloth scarf (vintage & sold out but so pretty!) | rafe clutch

topless tuesday.

i'm in the process of saving every single we heart it photo i've bookmarked. not an easy task considering the site cannot function.

and welcome, imgfave! you may not look as cute on the outside, but you are far superior.

small earth vintage.

amazing... these shoes are never-been-worn vintage discovered at a shoe store that had been closed for years. and in their original boxes!

marc by marc jacobs.

i kind of feel like i need this. you understand.

j'adore.

good monday morning!

wrangler mini | loeffler randall tank | henry begeulin peeptoe flat | marc by marc jacobs dr. q magazine clutch (one of my very favorite bags) | shanghai tang sunglasses (how great are these?)

i can't even remember the last time i looked good or felt good in a mini skirt. but i couldn't get over this wrangler* skirt.

*am i daft** or is this completely unlike what comes to mind when you think wrangler?
**yeah, i am saying daft now.

erica weiner.

i cannot get my mind off this hummingbird skull necklace by erica weiner. it's so beautifully morbid.

vivienne westwood.

a. ma. zing.

kind of like a grown-up version of these.

stranded! sunday with her name was lola.

hi, all! i am really, really excited to be part of her name was lola's stranded! sunday series.

i hope you'll go check my feature on what i'd take along if i (god willing) was stranded on a tropical isle. i've been watching a lot of 'lost' lately so i put a lot of thought into it. what would i bring that sawyer would want? should i bring knives like locke? would my dog get eaten by polar bears?

for my companion, i was torn between jason schwartzman and rhett miller. but go check out who i chose!

thank you so much to her name was lola for featuring me. it was a ton of fun. now i just need to find a beach.

orba squara.

i could go on and on about how this band's web site is the best i've ever seen. or you could just go see for yourself. my heart is still pounding it was that good.

i could share all of the screenshots i took, but i won't. because i took a lot. and i don't want to make anyone mad. my favorite is that moon phases one though. typography like that just pulls at my heart strings.

just. go. now. but beware... it'll put any road-trip chronicles of your own to shame.

oh... and the music? a nice discovery, as well. go buy a record so they can afford to give their site designer a raise.

jessie fair.

i've kept these hand-dyed tights stowed away in my inbox for an embarrassingly long time now. but oh my god are they not awesome? i can't even imagine wearing a pair right now in this july heat, but i'd love to own a pair for the fall.

happy weekend, all!

this sums up everything i've ever felt about life. though i wouldn't mind a little money if it found its way to me.

and p.s. welcome, cup of jo readers!

jeffrey campbell.

these wingtips are in my cart. just waiting for me to make a decision. just waiting. poor things. how could i disappoint them?

couverture.

i know i say i must have a lot of things. but in this case... i really must have it.

via design is mine.

my take thursday.

and don't forget to check out the thursdays you've missed!

good thursday to all.

some pretty to get your day started... if i had my way, my hair would look like either of these on any given day. i'd also have a tiny heart on my cheekbone and black cherry-red lips.

i wish i could tell you all about where i got the photos, but you know how i roll.

stay tuned for my take thursday.

taking suggestions for paris and amsterdam!

we've got a couple hotels in mind for our trip, but i knew you guys would have some wonderful suggestions.

hotel, restaurants, shopping, etc. in paris and amsterdam... what do you recommend?

shoe plea.

i need help... after much (awholehellofaton) searching, i came across this photo of the shoes i am seeking. but i want white. who knows where i can get them? i know they're like $3.50 shoes, so it shouldn't be hard, but i am having an awful time.

ideas?

p.s. yes, toms are similar. but i am not buying toms. sorry. guess i hate kids.
p.p.s. these ninja shoes are kind of cool.

more street style*.

ok! one more from lookbook that i couldn't not share...

THIS is the girl i want to be. her bangs, her poppy pleated dress, her vespa...

i am not, however, a fan of the photographer who chopped off her feet. ouch! as woody gaddis would say.

*albeit a little too styled.

street style.

styles i am loving lately...

honestly, i just snatched these from my style file and am not completely certain of their origin. but i think it's safe to say they're all from lookbook. please correct me if that's not the case.

i'm so swamped this week and i feel awful because the blog's been dull! just trying to get in as much extra work ($$$) before vacation as possible. things will be back to normal soon!

good monday morning!

hope everyone had a nice and festive weekend.

heather marks via smile. hair? yes, please.
