christina ung.
i adore this print by illustrator christina ung. and i'd love to see more of these umbrella people.
her blog shows the concepts and sketches behind the finished pieces, and i like that. it's nice to have a reminder that things don't just flow out of people's minds perfectly.
totokaelo.

oh, totokaelo, why can't you get along with my paycheck? i suppose it is mostly my little paycheck's fault. but, please, if you could try.
i would kill... i. would. kill. for this yoshi kondo top.
summer so far.

hello. my apologies for the sporadic posting. it seems i'd rather be doing summery things with summery loves than sitting here at the computer. i'll try to get back to normal this week.
above are a few shots from the summer so far. my joe's birthday was last week, and i could barely wait to give him this library birthday card by suann song of simplesong. happy birthday, sweets! i am lucky to have you.
the bubble, pugs and moth (ugly butterfly?) are things i do when he is mowing (and i should be blogging).
lovely on friday.
so i've been looking at the computer on and off for the past two days, trying to cobble something together for the blog. it's like my i can't quite connect my thoughts.
so, now, out of desperation, i bring you something from my inspiration file. something i can't credit because i have a tendency to drag things into said file without making note of where i got them.
also, i've had this done for a week now but, thanks to not connecting thoughts, am having a hard time finding art to go with it. that'll probably come out later this afternoon though. thank you, tara, for letting me play along. i promise my part is on its way!

gail sorronda.
i found the work of gail sorronda on aneta's bobbin talk (new favorite) and i am still in awe.
aren't you?
paris.

guess who hasn't talked about paris in at least four days? moi!
next month!

gadabout.

i. adore. these. i love monograms, but i've never been a fan of my initials. crd. it's just not pretty.

beach, please.
there's definitely too much work, not enough play going on for me right now. that three-day weekend spoiled me. it'd be nice to call in sick* and drive to the beach** tomorrow.

fernando vicente.
thanks to loose leaf tigers for tipping me off to vicente's genius work.
longchamp.
for me, for you.
i was jazzed to wake up this morning with an announcement from kate that her etsy shop was up and running. i was even more jazzed to see that she's offering this print, which i loved instantly the moment i saw it on for me, for you.
stella mccartney.
so it is unofficially summer. i'm excited about sun and skirts... not so excited about mosquitoes and sweat.
wouldn't you love to slip into this sweet sailboat dress by stella mccartney? and, what would go more perfectly than this bag made by sailmakers wm. j. mills & co.?
i mentioned a swap in my previous post. anyone have any ideas for an inexpensive but fun swap?

622 press.
check out the beautiful letterpress work of kristin joiner. i love this dandelion and especially love that it's done so vertically.
bonnie et clyde.
75 years ago today...
i've lately become obsessed with bonnie & clyde... the romanticism, the fashion (from the film, of course), serge gainsbourg and brigitte bardot's song.
here's some parker & barrow-inspired fashion. note the scarf.
p.s. a different outlaw, but i am dying to see public enemies about john dillinger. christian bale, billy crudup, johnny depp and marion cotillard? sign me up, thanks.

peggy wolf.
i'd love to own these prints from peggy wolf. in fact, i'd love to have an entire wall of these type of prints (such as this and this).i hope everyone's memorial day weekend is one to remember. i'll have family (babies!) in town plus plan on a trip to the paseo arts festival. other than that, i have a whole lot of nothing to do. i'm excited about that. oh, and i'll be watching the gossip girl finale finally. thank god.
peggy wolf via modish.
p.s. i'm thinking it's about time for a swap. but i have no idea what to do? something inexpensive. postcards? postage? summer scarf? i kind of like summer scarf. what do you think about that?
print liberation.
i am a fan of print liberation, though some of it is a little too disgruntled hipster for me. otherwise, brilliant.
summer comfort.

i spied this top over at roberta jane's camp comfort and couldn't get it out of my head. i love that she suggested pairing it with a floral skirt but i couldn't help imagine it with some white denim.
what would you wear it with? feel free to make your own ensemble. but don't forget to tell me if you post it on your blog.

may yang.
i fell in love with the work of tulsan may yang back in march at the annual momentum art show here in oklahoma city. sadly, i had forgotten all about this print until i uploaded photos off my poor neglected camera tonight.
don't you just love the colors? i'd love to own it but i fear it's long gone. maybe she'll add some more prints to her shop? yes, miss may, please do.
good monday morning!
tuesday mourning.
sometimes you just want to look like a piece of art.
via design crush.
p.s. i've always wanted to look like this sweet girl.
p.p.s. thanks for all your input on my monday morning question. you are all too sweet and supportive.
atlantik.
my heart skipped a beat. did yours?
who wants to buy this font for me?
until then, font specimen, i love you.

showpony.
this woe-is-me story is pertinent because: i have relied on a bed buddy (who knew they still made those?), a hot water bottle and an ice pack for most of that time.
here's where it actually gets pertinent: i think i would have felt a thousands times better with cute little guy's warm comfort. lavender and wheat... puts me to sleep just thinking about it. check more of these 'hot dogs' (ha you KNOW i love that) out at the recently launched, glasgow-based shop showpony. and enter code helloshowpony at checkout for 15 percent off. thank you, showpony!
*hence the missed post wednesday and two very rambly posts today.
cheap glasses.
i'm no expert, but if you feel like you're stuck with your $300 pair of glasses and want a change, i'd recommend it. i've only bought this one other pair, but i had good luck. wished i had gotten the anti-reflective coating and they slip a little on my nose (i think any optometrist will fix that for you), but the quality is fine. i had them checked out at my last eye appointment, and the rx was spot on. joe recently got a pair, too. he wasn't jazzed about the quality but he looks really good in them, so i'm not complaining.
yes, all the sites are jank and the follow-up e-mails are hardly in english, but glasses are glasses. and it's nice to have a couple options from day to day.
still got questions? check these links out.
mimi woo.
mika78 by mimi woo. can't get over the sweet details.
check out the color profile creative holly color did of mimi yesterday. nice & serene.
wayne pate.
kind of love this, by wayne pate.
via design crush.
thanks to all who responded to my monday morning question.
happy monday.

today, i really feel like i need these. do you think they're too... rugged? because i really love them.
also, these and these (gladiator + hurache? hurrah).
but my heart still aches for this sweet blue pair.
also, a monday morning question. you've noticed the blog's been a little schizo lately. blog post titles here today, gone tomorrow, and back again. fewer 'go buy this now' posts and more 'isn't this photo lovely' posts. did you enjoy it more when the blog was more consumer-driven? i get kind of depressed blogging about store-bought things and have tried to venture into more inspiring things. is that ok with you? or should i go back to my greedy ways? tell me, readers, what do you think?
