rarely do i come across a fragrance that i really, really love. but this new dkny be delicious perfume called 'fresh blossom' smells so springy and, well, fresh that i can't wait to pick up a bottle.

what perfume or perfumes do you use?

i was using masaki matsushima varieties in chocolate and cherry but i'm growing kind of sick of them (like thinking-about-them-makes-me-gag sick). so i think i'll make the switch back to marc jacobs essence in the meantime. it's also a nice spring scent.

what an exciting post! now, ladies, share... what do you wear?

speaking of winnings...

i completely forgot to mention that a long, long time ago (november! time flies!), i was lucky enough to win this skirt by martha of uniform studio. (if you didn't see, the skirt happened to grace the cover of stitch magazine and, if you didn't already know, is in my favorite colorway.)

annnyway, i think holiday madness got the best of martha (and, me too, for that matter), and i haven't received it yet, which has been fine since the weather's been awful.

but now! the weather's warming up, and i can't wait to slip it on.

martha, martha, hear my plea!

update! the skirt came today, and it couldn't have found a better day to arrive. it's beautiful and sunny and warm. the skirt is even prettier than i had hoped, and my day is made! thank you, martha!

thank you, coco+kelley!

a lot of the time i feel like my insatiable desire for pretty things is a really big character flaw.

then, wonderful things like this happen, and that really big character flaw really pays off.

thank you so much to the lovely cassandra of coco+kelley and to the pepper kids (cute little shop for kids, moms and non-moms!) for these 22k gold vermeil rose cut smoky quartz (perhaps my favorite stone?) earrings.

this girl is putting on the ritz the moment these show up.

p.s. check out this monogram necklace.

michelle williams.

how does she always looks so effortlessly chic?

she's come a long way since slutty jen lindley.

soia & kyo.

stolen from love it a lot, i really do love this a lot.

i don't know how the canadian dollar compares to the american dollar (i really should know this, though, right? no! i'm no economist!), but the price ($365CAD) sounds pretty nice.

sarah seven.

do you ever kind of get the idea that some people might be a little too perfect for their own good?

case in point:
hair? check. (this is my hair dream)
eyebrows? check check!
amazing shoulders? yep, that too.
ruffly tea top? oh yes.

via creature comforts.

blanca gomez.

one of each, please! this one reminds me of dorothy parker.

head over to the shiny squirrel for more from blanca gomez.

p.s. it continually amazes me how far jessica's shiny squirrel shop has come.

tiny little people.

oh, wow.

i really think this is such a lovely idea.

and a perfect excuse to buy lots and lots of little pretties from ebay.

what do you think about save-the-date hankies? would you use them?

luxe paperie.

my thoughts way too often, unfortunately.

isn't this card so pretty?

i've always loved hibiscuses.

a little note to all:

sorry for the lack of oh-so-witty banter.

i refuse to give more money to the cable company for internet (newspaper wages + mountain of debt = i'm lucky to have electricity) but it's starting to dawn on me that this poor little blog o' mine is suffering.

... that's all.

best,
caroline

orla kiely spring/summer.

couldn't resist.

via shiny squirrel.

p.s. this is a new hair goal. it's so pretty. it's a shame i recently got a whack-job cut. a real shame.

becca heuer.

i've meant to mention this calendar for FOREVER, but it got lost in my backlog of, well, backlogged stuff.

it kind of worked out because now it's on sale. right?

via someone spoil me.

great valentine's day idea.

from jordan at oh happy day:

My friend Aubrey Trinnaman told me about this GENIUS idea and I'm so excited that she decided to do it. Basically the premise is this. Send her $35 on Paypal and tell her the name of your Valentine and short (optional) message and she will create an original custom Valentine for them. She is on my list of the top 5 talented people I know so you can guarantee it will be amazing. She made a few samples {even one for me!} to get the idea. There is only a limited number of them so order now before they are all filled up. Go here to purchase. The best part is that you'll have an original piece of art that you can frame for your house--quite a steal for $35.

go here!

smart girl!

anthropologie will be the end of me.

a $118 shower curtain!?

but it's soooo beautiful. and it could double as a maxi dress. don't think i wouldn't do it. because i would.

jonesin' for some sunshine.

who is dying for spring? me too.

xoxo to cynthia rowley for 20 percent off through feb. 14 (code: cr214).

don't you love it?

thoughts?

joe said no. i say yes (YES! YES!).

via cup of jo.

p.s. i'd just like to thank all of you for your very sweet words of encouragement the last month or so when i lost my blo-jo. wait. wait. that doesn't sound right. it's supposed to be like moJO. for BLOggers. ... ok, so i am a very self-centered person and am not good at taking advice, but i was so grateful for everything you guys said.

i don't want to be the one to say it...

but what little soul i have was crushed when blueprint closed its doors. so today, when i heard the news of domino, i couldn't muster up much sadness.

loved the magazine when it started and used to get every issue, but it kind of lost its pizzazz. every issue kind of seemed like the last.

is it disappointing? of course. but i guess i won't be mourning it.

prismera design!

don't you just love these post/note cards? it's part of a new (eco-friendly) line called 'everyday design.' and, as you may already know, the talented and inspiring laura su also designs beautiful jewelry. (to. die. for.)

gaptone?

yes, i am that clever.

get it? gap + pantone?

annoyingly (though not surprisingly), it sounds like they will only be in a special new york pop-up store through feb. 8. that means my sweet, sweet skin will never meet lovely no. 14-0848.

read all about it.
