thoughts?

joe said no. i say yes (YES! YES!).

via cup of jo.

p.s. i'd just like to thank all of you for your very sweet words of encouragement the last month or so when i lost my blo-jo. wait. wait. that doesn't sound right. it's supposed to be like moJO. for BLOggers. ... ok, so i am a very self-centered person and am not good at taking advice, but i was so grateful for everything you guys said.

i don't want to be the one to say it...

but what little soul i have was crushed when blueprint closed its doors. so today, when i heard the news of domino, i couldn't muster up much sadness.

loved the magazine when it started and used to get every issue, but it kind of lost its pizzazz. every issue kind of seemed like the last.

is it disappointing? of course. but i guess i won't be mourning it.

prismera design!

don't you just love these post/note cards? it's part of a new (eco-friendly) line called 'everyday design.' and, as you may already know, the talented and inspiring laura su also designs beautiful jewelry. (to. die. for.)

gaptone?

yes, i am that clever.

get it? gap + pantone?

annoyingly (though not surprisingly), it sounds like they will only be in a special new york pop-up store through feb. 8. that means my sweet, sweet skin will never meet lovely no. 14-0848.

read all about it.

jump!

move over, flickr. new favorite way to kill time. but sometimes, hearting things doesn't work. or, it does work, but you end up with really lewd photos replacing the ones you actually want. i'm not sure how that happens.

and, speaking of jumping, i got a trampoline for my birthday, and it is kicking my ass. i thought it would be really easy. like when i was eight. no.

postcup by bailey doesn't bark.

i really love postcards*, whether i find them in my mailbox or at the flea market. when my good friend visited last month, she brought me the postcard necklace i had wanted for so long (thanks again, holly!). like this one from stylesmith. minus the eiffel tower. but! i do have an eiffel tower charm like that, also courtesy of holly a long, long time ago. so maybe i'll just have to snap that on tonight.

ok i am boring myself, but the point is, i love postcards and all things related, SUCH AS this "postcup" from super-cute and new-to-me shop bailey doesn't bark. while you're visiting the shop (and you will swoon, i promise), check out this ants on a cup & saucer set. a. dor. a. ble.

*you can send me a postcard if you'd like. i'd love to see where you guys are from!

shoes.

i'm having a very sad shoe crisis. above, though, you'll see three fine examples that could potentially pull me out of this rut.

love those huge heels, and that boot would fit my big ol' calves. see more here.

happy new year.

you may have noticed i've been on a little hiatus. i'm not sure if it was a busy schedule or just a lack of inspiration, but boy was i not feeling it*.

it's officially been three years since i started the blog, and i try verrry verrry hard to keep it going. unfortunately, the honeymoon is over and i think i need some fresh ideas to keep me going. so if you've got any or anything you'd like to see, please share.

in the meantime, i share with you a painting of my dog, luke duke, done by my talented friend holly, who came to visit with husband izaak last week. it captures him (luke, not izaak) perfectly. girlfriend's got some downtime now that she just finished her mfa (yay!) so she should probably expect some commissioned assignments soon.

i hope everyone had a great holiday (i did) and will bear with me, as i do intend to get back on the saddle. the blogging saddle, that is.

*i am THOUSANDS of posts behind in my google reader and i think i'm at the point where i just need to mark them all read and move on (which i haaaate to do). so, if i missed anything great in the blogosphere in the last couple weeks, please tell me!
