west elm.

i am need of some new bedding. stat. it just occurred to me i haven't gotten new sheets since my last bed, when i downsized to a double. so yes, all of my sheet sets are too big, and i haven't even given them a second thought.

and, right now, i'm using a quilt i've had since FOURTH GRADE. i love it to pieces, and it's more of my cuddle quilt when i'm sick but somehow, it's found a permanent place on my bed these last couple months. DEAR GOD, right?

so... clearly, i've got some work to do. and, my sweet joe's offered to repaint my bed. it's this bed (forgive the image... really, the only one i could find). glossy black.

i. love. my. bed. and i love sleeping in it. so it kills me i've neglected making it an awesome place lately.

so, where do i start? i'm eyeing these two duvets that i absolutely love. strangely, they're way frillier than i am used to, but they just look oh so right...

but, parachute or pin-tuck?

  1. omgoodness! i am having the same bedding-in-question moment! i am looking at the SAME bedding from west elm (the pintuck) i also saw it on a target commercial and think it's a bit less there (same pintuck and it's actually called the kissing bedding which makes me love it more.) a few months back i referred this to a friend redoing her room and the only draw back is that she said the pintucks have snapped or come undone due to actually using it. this makes me hesitant but a) i'm not a crazy sleeper and b) it's too perfect to pass up.
good luck! perhaps i'll post an after of my bedroom makeover with new bedding as well!

  2. A. you shouldn't have posted that picture of yourself in your underwear. it's sure to make its rounds on the interweb!

    B. i've had my eye on that pin-tuck bedding for a year. one of us should get it. and that person should be you since Piper would tear it up in a nano.

  4. Just like everyone else, I've loved the pintuck bedding since I first laid eyes on it.

I love that that was the only photo you could find of your bed. It made me laugh out loud when I opened the link. :)

  5. I OWN the pin tuck since last july in cream and ADORE IT! It makes me want to actually MAKE the bed. It is gorgeous and so fun to look at. I have to say that parachute looks SO pretty as well and if it was around at the time when I bought mine I would have a really hard time deciding too.

  7. I was dead-set on the pin-tuck bedding myself, but when I saw it on the bed in the store, it was a wrinkled mess. Not sure if it was just lazy staff pulling it out of the bag and slapping it on the display, but it seemed like it might be a bit more maintenance than I was looking for. That said, it's beautiful and worth it if you're handy with an iron! Love that they offer it in more colors now.

  10. i'm late on this, but i have owned the pintuck for a while and i adore it... it is so soft and cozy and it looks slightly wrinkled, but i love the look! it also stands up well to my two cats and dog and is easy to clean.
