sophie blackall's missed connections.

i don't know how i haven't come across the work of brooklyn artist sophie blackall before. but tonight i discovered her missed connections blog, which i found lovely and hilarious:

Messages in bottles, smoke signals, letters written in the sand; the modern equivalents are the funny, sad, beautiful, hopeful, hopeless, poetic posts on Missed Connections websites. Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I'm trying to pin a few of them down.

i'd love to own this one. funny and pretty. i love.

p.s. this one kills me. i was a purple shirt. i looked offal. killing. me.

  3. This series makes my heart hurt it is just so perfect. My brother actually met a girl (a doctor w/o borders) through missed connections! They went on a couple of dates and became friends. Isn't that cute!?

  6. So cute. I always love reading the Missed Connections...for no reason in particular. I just think it's sweet to throw out a little note to the universe in hopes of finding someone who caught your eye.

Its all just a little heartwarming :)
