cheap glasses.

i really was not supposed to spend any money on anything ever again, but these sweet specs were the right price and i had had my eye on them for too long. best part? under $25 ($12.95 for frames + $7 for lenses + $5 for anti-reflective coating).

i'm no expert, but if you feel like you're stuck with your $300 pair of glasses and want a change, i'd recommend it. i've only bought this one other pair, but i had good luck. wished i had gotten the anti-reflective coating and they slip a little on my nose (i think any optometrist will fix that for you), but the quality is fine. i had them checked out at my last eye appointment, and the rx was spot on. joe recently got a pair, too. he wasn't jazzed about the quality but he looks really good in them, so i'm not complaining.

yes, all the sites are jank and the follow-up e-mails are hardly in english, but glasses are glasses. and it's nice to have a couple options from day to day.

still got questions? check these links out.

  1. ack!!! i just went in for new contacts and figured i deserved some new frames, too. i browsed around, didn't even try on ANY of the prada frames, found the perfect pair of frames for my face, and asked the sales lady what the price was. $275!!! for the frames alone! PLUS THE LENSES, PLUS EXAM, PLUS CONTACTS!!! um, i did not have $600-$700 smackers to spend, so i told the sales lady to call me when they were half off. glasses frames weigh about 1/2 an ounce, so i think these frames were 'worth' their weight in gold! maddening. i will go the cheapie route, for sure.

  2. Love your new specs. I did the ebay thing a while back & snagged a pair of Chanel frames & had an online co. fill the RX. It was a huge risk but well worth it. Got a killer pair of glasses for under $200. Would never buy retail again. You got an even better deal, way to go!

    Love your new header (:
