take that, astrid.

um, why can't she be my sister? girlfriend whipped up her own astrid jacket.

oh my god my heart is palpitating. could i actually do this myself? visions of cascading flowers are racing through my head. wow. i can. and i will. well, i might.

also, why can't i have wonderful cheekbones like that?

sarah drake design.

i was recently introduced to the looooovely letterpress work of sarah drake. wouldn't you love to be surrounded with this kind of elegance all of the time? letterpress notes instead of post-its? escort cards instead of text messages? custom invites instead of e-vites?

not that i need to convince you, but have a look.

christmas sale at locher's.

even though she totally flaked on an interview i had set up and thoughtfully wrote out, i still pretty much adore dirty little nicole locher and her clever wares.

i won't go into detail on her sweet little embroidered messages because my grandma always seems to get wind of it whenever i drop the f-bomb (what would she do if her friends saw! yes, greedy girl's huge in the octogenarian circles).

go find out for yourself.

while you're there, pick me up something pretty because she's having a christmas sale right now. hell, you can probably afford to pick up a couple for me at those prices.

to give you an idea, i'm also loving this one because i was notorious for saying it as a kid. well, minus that whole f-word thing. most of the time. yeah, i was an enjoyable child.

read more on lady locher here. i've been a fan for a while.

and, nicole, you're lucky you're so adorable and talented (and that your model's so cute and your web site so brilliant), and that i am so forgiving.

boots. gray boots.

ok, i think it's safe to say i'll have the gift guide out on friday. so stay tuned!

p.s. if you haven't yet signed up for calendar swap, do so right this second! also, i'd appreciate anyone who spreads the word about it on their blog!

p.p.s. great boots, no?

wow.

ok, i'm trying to put together my gift guides BUT i couldn't wait a second to post this.

i. love. it.

well done, wendy brandes. well done.

dear santa...

green, please.

enjoy!

i really, really love, especially that little spider at the bottom.

leanne marshall update!

check out leanne marhsall's pretty new (redesigned) site. shiny and, as always, breathtaking.

can't wait for that online shop to open!

charlie harper!

i want to snag this charlie harper memory game for all the kids i know. all two of them.

introducing ...

[ed note: i've had a great turnout so far (33 so far!), but i'll be extending the deadline to join til the end of the day tuesday. so sign up now!]

here's how it'll work:

you have until nov. 30 to e-mail me your name, blog and home address.

i'll get back in touch with you by dec. 3 and give you your swapmate's deets.

then you just find a calendar (between $20 and $25 in value; sorry, gals – no mall kiosk kitten calendars but handmade is always welcome) and send it to your swapmate by dec. 20. just in time for the holidays and the new year!

sound good? i'll set up a spot on flickr where we can all upload our fantastic new pretties!

if you've got any questions, please leave a comment and i'll answer asap (but don't forget to e-mail me to join the swap).

need some ideas? luckily for you, the blogosphere has been rife with calendar posts lately.

so thanks to the always enchanting joanna goddard (um girlfriend got engaged if you hadn't heard!), i've found a couple i just really want to marry. or at least be the really creepy neighbor who offers to water their plants way too much.

the couple (she wore a wonderful headpiece on her wedding day) happen to be pretty talented designers, and they've just launched a shop.

i really love this poster for black kids, except i felt pretty lame for never having heard them.

so i popped right over to trusty old myspace*, and guess what? they sound pretty good.

so now i can purchase the print without being a poseur, right?

*be greedy girl's friend on my space. greedy girl is very lonely there.

i think i deserve this. i'm not entirely sure why. but i bet i do.

but why bother plating the snap with gold if the bag's just pvc?

p.s. stay tuned tomorrow when i'll announce a super surprise that will be fun for all.

p.p.s. stay tuned next week for the third annual (eek i've got to stop this blogging business) greedy girl gift guide. in the meantime, visit last year's and the year before that one.

finally on their way. thank god. i was about to throw my regular pair on the ground and smash them into bits. but they cost too much. the new pair, on the other hand? $25, including rx lenses and shipping. nice.
