animal alphabet cards.

i spied these yesterday in that martha stewart crafts section at michaels. thought they were just about too cute and would look pretty right framed and in a child's bedroom.

i'd like to have a 'c' framed for myself, but the animal was a cow, and i wasn't sure how i felt about that.

they'd also be cute to give to friends, i suppose.

maybe i've talked myself back into it ...

martha stewart crafts, $9.99

eyeglasses pouch.

who could say no to this cheery little bit? after all, i did find two new pairs (this and this in brown) that could definitely use some coddling in my megabag.

oktak's etsy shop, $30

silver molar.

i'm officially all the more wiser. or would it be less wise? the last of my wisdom teeth came out today. (by came out, i mean they were forcefully extracted with drilling and chiseling. thanks, god, for making my teeth impossible.)

chainchainchained's etsy shop, $32

p.s. god: i also think i deserve this for being such a good little patient.

lip white mythic watch.

i rarely wear a watch and, when i do, it's usually for form over function, as the batteries in all of them are dead.

but one of my very favorite ones is a white leather, wide-band guess watch i bought on my very first trip to new york (five years ago this week!). it's far less cool than i thought it was back then but it looks awesome on a tanned wrist in the summer.

unfortunately for me, i don't have $400 to modernize the look with this LIP watch designed by prisca briquet, but ain't it great?

barneys, $395

bubblewand necklace.

i don't know if it's because i'm like 4, but i could watch bubbles all day long. they are so magical and crazy and go every which way.

every now and then, joe and i will break out the bubbles for the pugs. margo could chase them all day long, but my poor luke just isn't interested. actually, i think he's just more interested in watching how insane margo goes for them. it's really a sight.

so, yeah, check out this adorable necklace from cynthia rowley. would love to have it to wear all summer. so. so. cute.

via the most awesomest stuff ever.

cynthia rowley, $150

p.s. i'm watching satc on tbs, and it's the one where big is packed up to move to california, and they dance to moon river, and it's all very sweet.

he leaves her the record and plane tickets. the. best. and carrie says the cutest things in it.

if you're tired, you take a nap-a; you don't move to napa.

you can't leave new york. you're the chrysler building ... the chrysler building would be all wrong in napa.

sigh.

i have my other wisdom teeth out in the morning (i'd kind of been ignoring the dentist's calls for a while, but finally broke down and scheduled it ... three months later) and likely will miss the satc press screening later in the night. very sad about that. but it gives me some motivation for recovery!

joules.

some time ago i received a catalog from joules. it's kind of lilly pulitzer meets j.crew meets ll bean, and not sure how i got on the list, but they've got some lovely summer things. since i first caught a glimpse of this dress, i have wanted to make it my official summer uniform. also a pretty big fan of the shirt below.

shoes shoes shoes. for cheap.

so, if you haven't caught on, i was a bad girl this weekend and went shopping. (AFTER i paid my bills, for once!)

because i have gotten out of the habit of heels (much to the dismay of many and many a pair in my closet) and i'm getting pretty tired of flats, i decided on these blue suede pretties. they admittedly look kind of grandma-y, but what grandma wears electric blue shoes? (answer: me in 50 years.)

secondly, i was absolutely taken by the heel on these green suede lovelies below, but you know that whole 'i can't walk 10 feet anymore in heels' thing. there was a yellow pair (not on the web site) that i probably would have broken down for, if they hadn't been too small.

and, after visiting the web site today, i decided i probably need this yellow & gray pair, which make me all too reminiscent of my favorite puma anjans (which are no longer those colors, sadly).
ok, that was a lot of crazy talk about shoes, but the best part is, they're all $30 on sale. !!!

deckside dress.

on a somewhat rare trip inside american eagle this week, i came across this pretty thang.

i picked it up and was kind of ambivalent, not knowing if i'd actually wear it. well, thanks to laundry day and a hurried effort to take the dog on a walk, i threw it on and LOVED it.

it also comes in green, but you know me & yellow. we go way back.

american eagle outfitters, $19.99 ($14.99 in stores)

AND...

i also picked this up. i loved the color, and the back has the cutest little fabric-covered button detail. also cheap.

belted ruffle trim dress.

i came across this while pondering this (in black!), and it reminded me a tad of serena's dress from the finale. you know, in a $3,500-price-difference kind of way. and that's on sale! oh, but wasn't it pretty?

newport news, $49

alternative apparel.

finally, a company to rival pervy dov charney.

i have always loved the simplicity behind american apparel but i have just gotten so turned off by their skeevy aesthetic. (upon further review, i stumbled upon this and might need it.)

but, anyway... i'm in no way prude or easily offended. i like coked out models in gold lame as much as the next person. i just think charney's a skeezeball.

see how cute and wholesome these girls are? thank you, alternative apparel. (plus, they offer this hat that i want right now.)

camel ostrich jacket.

so that bitch serena has totally been rocking this jacket that should belong to me.

and a little piece of my heart broke when i discovered it would set me back $2,240 to have my very own.

who else is on the edge of their seat for the season finale? i hope dan doesn't do it!

just cavalli, $2,240

build your own kelly!

knocked up and can't afford to cover up that baby bump with a croc hermes kelly? now you can! or, you can at least have the second-best thing.

my friend holly tipped me off to this do-it-yourself kelly which i thought was pretty fantastic. my heart belongs to this one, but there are a variety of options!

go here, and click on the 'i want it! i'll have it!' bag icon.

enjoy!

'49 mile' acrylic on canvas.

i have really got to get out to san francisco before my dear holly puts a hit out on me. if she hasn't already.

last time i visited, i caught a glimpse of these signs and thought they were so charming. perhaps i need this as a momento?

p.s. finally got my imac re-situated and will be back to normal soon.

six shooter dish.

i know, i know, i KNOW. i've been the worst little blogger ever these past couple weeks.

i'd say it's because i wanted you to really focus on the good behind project 8256 earlier in the week, but that's a lie. i've just not in a bloggy place (i mean that in a purely philosophical way. i promise i haven't been in jail).

hopefully now, though, i'm back (with a vengeance).

candystore collective, $86

congratulations, nippies winners!

i'm so sorry i've been away all week. but i should be back with some regularity in the next few days.

in the meantime, i need the following nippies giveaway entrants to e-mail me their details (address, size, etc.) if you haven't already: jessica k., heidi r. and kjk. also in the e-mail please specify whether or not it's ok to use your story on greedy girl.

i'll try to get those out this weekend. thanks again for entering, and i hope you enjoy them!
