calendar time.

it comes in a clear jewel case stand, but i think i'd put it on the wall with some picture-hanging wire and alligator clips.

amazing and colorful, oh my.

my favorite months? march, june, july, august and october.

more on costuming: a plea.

every year, i want to be margot tenenbaum for halloween. and, every year, i fail to find the perfect vintage lacoste dress (i've scoured shops, ebay, everywhere... to no avail).

so, please, someone... for the love of god. please direct me to the secret place in the world where these are stashed away.

speaking of costumes...

first off, who's excited about masquerade night on gossip girl? i am.

second of all, inspired by the upcoming episode and marie antoinette, it's been decided there will be a winter masquerade ball soon. very soon.

halloween!

by far, the best holiday of the year.

still have no idea what to be? american apparel's costume slideshow is quite clever and helpful.

some are especially cute (andy+edie, rollergirl, the three's company gang) and would be easy to assemble at the last minute. the site even walks you through what you need.

(i'm going to be a robot. unfortunately, american apparel couldn't help me out with that one. i'm certain no one wants to see the lamé side of me.)

fiesta!

was in santa fe last week and was so excited about all the color, especially these pretty punched paper banners that hung everywhere.

i suppose i had seen them plenty of times in other places but, given my new penchant for all things gaudy, i was particularly overjoyed.

best part is, you can have them custom-made for whatever occasion you want.

i am loving lorena barrezueta's collection of porcelain pieces molded from tin containers (think chicken pot pie all classy-like).

gear up.

my love gave me a pair of these, and they are the softest, most wonderful things you would ever want to put on your hands.

i had wanted pretty driving gloves for years but never had any luck finding any that weren't bulky (aka isotoners).

the weather is starting to get cool, and i can finally start wearing them all the time. and, they match the car. double plus.

i'll be the cutest little driver in town.

sadly, this pretty peacock color is not available. but it does come in a very pretty green. unfortunately, another green clutch is the last thing i need.

it's october! (plus p.s.a. of the month)

and here's what october holds! ...

+ my m's birthday! family and cake!
+ breast cancer awareness month. so give yourself a good rub-down and race for the cure (or, sleep in, if that's more your style).
+ a four-day santa fe getaway with jose (joe did not rhyme).
+ some serious budgeting (holy-shit-christmas-is-like-tomorrow).
+ a happy halloween (speaking of which, want this, via outblush).

and, i even bet temperatures will begin to dip below 90! so, bring on the chili, scarves, gloves and boots.

sadly, though, because of said budgeting, i will not be able to own these pretty little things anytime soon. (i do plan to lovingly caress and smell them while in santa fe, though.)
