the fantastic leslie feist.

how i missed a new feist album i don't know. i haven't heard it in full, but i think i will go ahead and recommend it. you're welcome.

favorites so far: '1234,' 'honey honey' and 'my moon my man.'

almost there. will be back today, tonight or at least tomorrow.

ok, everyone, relax... i will resume normal posting this week.

funny little baaa-uble.

somehow i've managed to not hear about this fun little site until now. junky little things are fun, no?

beach. hair. now.

for several summers (and many springs, winters and falls), this was my favorite product of all products in the world. ever.

then it disappeared.

still, when i'm at the drugstore, i'll give the john frieda section a quick glance, hoping maybe it has reappeared. (i do this in much the same way and with the same frequency i check in on the hot cereal section, hopeful that cream of rice has made its way back to the shelves. it hasn't, and i so far refuse to buy breakfast cereal via amazon.)

unfortunately, neither my beloved cream of rice nor my sea spray texturizer has made a comeback.

so imagine my delight when i stumble across this product review tonight. alas, it was purely a tease. there is no more john frieda beach blonde.

so, really, the point of long, sad post is to ask... any thoughts on bumble and bumble's surf spray? i'm thinking it may be the only acceptable alternative but i'm not quite ready to admit failure.

pouffe.

i've been eyeing these for a while. for some reason, it seems i'm mostly finding them on uk sites?

city totes.

this site came via daily candy this week, and i thought these bags were so, so cute.

other cities (or boroughs): brooklyn, manhattan, la, chicaco, san francisco, queens and portland.

but, speaking of washington, i'll be there for a week in may, and i'm looking for some shopping and restaurant recommendations. i've never been (well, my parents lived there when i was born. but my memories from infancy are a bit vague), so i'm open to anything!

might be within reach.

i very rarely come across something from design within reach that i think i positively must have. well, this isn't really true, as i quite often want most everything there.

BUT what i mean is i very rarely consider having something so seriously. and, to be honest, i've only known of this lounge chair for about a minute and a half (via outblush), but i fell in insta-love.

i'm obviously on a wire chair thing. it's because, instead of a sofa, i think i've decided to have a few chairs. i have a soft, vintagey chair like this, and i kind of want to offset it with a couple funky modernish chairs (this is where a lounge chair comes in).

disclaimer: my bed's in the same room, so there is actually a place for comfortable lounging. this is just so i don't have to offer up my stairs as seats for guests anymore (yeah, i'm a real classy hostess).

so, back to this chair. i like it. do you?

i'm no boy, but i certainly will be looking out for the books in this boys own books series by penguin classics (out in june). i love all their collections!

on ebay.

mixed in with all the bertoia wire chairs i can't afford, i found this.

and aside from that seat cover catastrophe and the wretched mirrored tabletop, this actually is a pretty fun little piece.

if i were in brisbane, i'd snatch it up for $20 in a heartbeat (or at least in the next eight days, five hours).

by the way, if you're about to throw a couple bertoias out to the curb (and you're not in brisbane), i will gladly accept them.

these prints and drawings on pages of books have intrigued me for some time. while most are a bit too myspace for my tastes, i do really like this one. more mod chic, less emo narcissism.

in honor of my first love, patti duke (the german shepherd), and her birthday today, i present this bobble-head of sorts.

and, for my friend holly and her winnie: the dachshund nodder. (too bad you're not like four and a half feet from rose and radish anymore.)

i'm very, very sorry for not really being around all week. i'm pre-move and mid-pack and have been focusing my attention toward the new place.

i'll try to make up for it this weekend and will be back on a regular track in a week or two (hopefully full of inspiration).

in the meantime, if you've got any suggestions on anything whatsoever or just want to keep me entertained, e-mail me.

a type of quest.

any thoughts on where i could find a cute typewriter like this? i figure i can find one on ebay but don't really want to look through a bunch of crap. i only say that because i've tried looking before but to no avail... not because i'm really that lazy.
