might be within reach.

i very rarely come across something from design within reach that i think i positively must have. well, this isn't really true, as i quite often want most everything there.

BUT what i mean is i very rarely consider having something so seriously. and, to be honest, i've only known of this lounge chair for about a minute and a half (via outblush), but i fell in insta-love.

i'm obviously on a wire chair thing. it's because, instead of a sofa, i think i've decided to have a few chairs. i have a soft, vintagey chair like this, and i kind of want to offset it with a couple funky modernish chairs (this is where a lounge chair comes in).

disclaimer: my bed's in the same room, so there is actually a place for comfortable lounging. this is just so i don't have to offer up my stairs as seats for guests anymore (yeah, i'm a real classy hostess).

so, back to this chair. i like it. do you?

on ebay.

mixed in with all the bertoia wire chairs i can't afford, i found this.

and aside from that seat cover catastrophe and the wretched mirrored tabletop, this actually is a pretty fun little piece.

if i were in brisbane, i'd snatch it up for $20 in a heartbeat (or at least in the next eight days, five hours).

by the way, if you're about to throw a couple bertoias out to the curb (and you're not in brisbane), i will gladly accept them.

these prints and drawings on pages of books have intrigued me for some time. while most are a bit too myspace for my tastes, i do really like this one. more mod chic, less emo narcissism.

i'm very, very sorry for not really being around all week. i'm pre-move and mid-pack and have been focusing my attention toward the new place.

i'll try to make up for it this weekend and will be back on a regular track in a week or two (hopefully full of inspiration).

in the meantime, if you've got any suggestions on anything whatsoever or just want to keep me entertained, e-mail me.

any thoughts on where i could find a cute typewriter like this? i figure i can find one on ebay but don't really want to look through a bunch of crap. i only say that because i've tried looking before but to no avail... not because i'm really that lazy.

hit or missoni.

at the risk of sounding like a complete bore...

while most everything missoni is most always gorgeous, i usually can't imagine myself weaving it into my home things or wardrobe (it can be so zany!).

this throw, however, is so practical i believe i'd need it in every color.

i'm on this huge home makeover kick, thanks to what will hopefully be my new cozy apartment. and, while aprons and potholders don't necessarily scream home makeover, they do say something along the lines of i can't wait to finally be in a comfy place that i can finally make feel like my own.

i'm so excited i can barely get to sleep at night (it explains why i'm up at 2 on a 'school' night).

i'll finally feel like a grown-up! this will be my first post-grad move. now, i kind of feel like a dorm-dweller. not because my place is small or horrible. just because i never took the time to do anything with it and eventually became uninspired by it.

now i'm just bursting with ideas!

so remember that fabulous rain i mentioned earlier in the week? well it's rained one night and that's it. but this is ok, because these boots are on their way. and once they arrive, it will rain nonstop for weeks, i'm pretty sure. lucky me... spring's my favorite (i say this at the start of every season).

move over, blogger.

so i've discovered a brand new addiction that could kill any time i have for blogging from now on: polyvore.

i'm not normally so matchy-matchy (as above) and am more likely to carry a random green bag with the outfit than a yellow clutch, but it made such a nice statement.

in case i don't update you enough on what wonderful ensembles i'm putting together, you can check in here. or, on the off chance you don't care one bit what i'm up to (how weird?), you can work on your own. see, it's a win-win for everyone.

thank you, jianing for the tip. i love what you've done! back in the early days of internet, i'd attempt something similar via my aol dial-up connection and ms paint (photoshop wha?). i'd usually get quite frustrated and end up signing off abrubtly, asking myself why someone didn't just make a fun and easy paperdoll game to ease my suffering. i knew you'd come along, jianing, to save my day.

high on pot(s and pans).

i love nearly everything at williams-sonoma. but this is the one thing (or set of things) that – without fail – stops me in my tracks and commands my attention.

that cool, hard metal. those sexy, heavy lids. i've never seen cast iron so hot.

my intense materialust usually forces me out of the store, leaving me sulking and damning myself for not just being a few hundred dollars richer.

but, a girl can dream. even about expensive pots and pans.

ask me how much i really, truly cook? quite rarely. no, really... like three or four real, complete meals a year.

ask me how much i could possibly need thousands of dollars worth of cookware? i don't. i have three, maybe four, mismatched pieces, and the most action they ever see is warming milk for hot chocolate or... well, that's it.

but ask me how much i covet le creuset pieces? endlessly.

i wasn't much of a baker when i craved my kitchenaid stand mixer those years ago. now it's my favorite part of the kitchen, and baking's about the only thing i like to do in there. so who's to say this one, small investment wouldn't make a world of difference in my domestic habits?

[p.s. i'm also a big fan of – surprise – the dijon, but i can't see that being a practical part of my kitchen. sadly, the green would be.]
