freddy&ma.

it has been a while since i last visited the site of brilliant design duo freddy&ma.

their work – and the philosophy behind it – is so inspiring, i could browse their designs for hours. take a look for yourself and see how far they've come since i last mentioned them.

sorry!

so i was feeling blog inspired today and have somehow managed to screw up the html (it seems impossibly more difficult with the new blogger) and have not accomplished what i set out to do.

so, please be patient with me as i work to repair it over the next day or two. i only say this because i'm tired of working on it today and it will have to look funny until i become reinspired (hopefully tomorrow).

rubber + wool = rule

finally... a boot to fit my monster calves. part galosh, part woolly goodness. [via daily candy.]

sorry for the unannounced absence. was visiting my favorite friend in san francisco. (thank you, holly, for the san frantastic time!) ate lots of tasty food and bought lots of fun things.

and now i'm home.

brand new bag?

thanks to my fondness for bags of any kind, i can't help having the nerdy obsession with laptop bags. this one is quite nice, would fit my ibook perfectly and is on sale for hella cheap.

gold + green = great.

not so much bridal collection as it is caroline collection, but i do love this. i say it adds more shine to the caroline party.

what i love.

or, one thing right now, really: kate spade designs (have i mentioned that before?) ... the site, bags, typography, illustrations, stationery, shoes ... everything.

and, thanks to this new 'behind the designs' section of their site, you can take a peek into what inspires the team behind that beautiful work.

damn it, blogger.

[addendum: you're welcome. here's the photo.]

am i crazy, or has it been impossible to upload photos lately?

i won't let blogger bring me down though. i'll still give you a lust-worthy item. you'll just have to find out for yourself what it looks like.

in the meantime, anyone with the slightest clue as to why i can't upload photos is welcome to share their knowledge.

getting my birthday on.

ah, 24 ... such a weighty number; of such great value and importance; arguably the best number out there.

i'll remind you why [thanks, wikipedia]:

  • 24 karats = pure gold
  • 24 & hot jack bauer jack bauer action, of course!
  • 24 (el numero) holds a 'strong popular association with homosexuality' in brazil, apparently (this could be the year, gang!)
  • "two-four" ... a canadianism for 24-pack of beer

as you can probably tell from all of these signs from above, this will be one very significant year.

happy 24 to me.

two things.

to reiterate uncrate's initial thoughts on the apple iphone... ho-ly shit. what an exciting day!

i say this not because i have any clue what this really means for the mobile market, but because i – like many mac users – pride myself in judging books by their covers, figuratively speaking.

i like a beautifully designed and well-performing product and don't require much beyond that, hence my love for apple and excitement for the iphone.

secondly, i adore the little boy in steve jobs' presentations. that hair! those eyes!

that's all.

not-so-mellow yellow.

piazza cotton jacket
j.crew, $140

i hereby proclaim all shades of yellow as my official color of spring. while this jacket embodies everything i could possibly love about one item, i fear it's best left to the girls with the right coloring.

being the light-colored gal that i am, i think i should stick with yellow accessories, or skirts, at least (the farther from my face, the better).

but wait! let's all remember michelle williams last year at the oscars. she was positively radiant.

and, though i've never particularly liked kristen bell, thanks to the little shit she played on deadwood, i came across this photo lately and found it inspiring.

so let's make spring 2007 the season of red lips and yellow greatness!

love the tie on the waistband.

chino pleat skirt
j.crew, $69.50

velvet. i'm also really into velvet right now.

amber velvet clutch

and, of course, there are these beauties, which i wore for the first time yesterday and absolutely adore.

inspired by miss holly's great find (a cloche perhaps? i will hunt down for my own as soon as i get a moment), i am using this beautiful little trilby as my greed-inducing find o' the day. because i like to think my life is a humphrey bogart movie.
