just weird.

there's nothing really greed-inducing about these; i just wanted to share them for their skinny leg creepy factor.

this is very tempting to me. can i, as a girl, rock the jack spade laptop bag? because, i don't know if you picked up on it, but it's brown on the outside and green on the inside.

i look most awful in hats, which is unfortunate considering how much i'm always drawn to them.

judging another book by its cover.

not to go all hippie environmentalist on you, but i noticed this book the other day at the bookstore.

yeah, sure, it's probably a good read, but the cover design by stefan sagmeister is amazing (the photo does not do it justice).

the book (all of that paper between the two exquisite covers) is done in a sort of encyclopedia format. it looks like a pretty comprehensive resource on green issues and would no doubt make a nice gift for that little tree hugger on your list.

bellissimo.

i'm fairly certain that i need this. if i lived anywhere else where it actually made sense (namely, a small coastal fishing town or hip european city), i'd most definitely already have it.

and i'd be cute as hell.

i'm also pretty much in love with this one.

now, don't get me wrong... i really, really despise the holidays.

or, at least i try to.

i do like the season (pure chaos compounded with bittersweet nostalgia), and god help me if i don't like the music – on occasion. (delilah was playing some christmas-by-the-carpenters song the other day. i swear, it was barely november. i threw up inside my mouth six times before getting a little bit excited.)

but, i hate corporate christmas commercialism. at the same time, i have a hard time not buying into it.

so, that said, i am announcing the upcoming arrival of the first-ever greedy girl gift guide for the holidays.

ring, ring.

i've gotten strangely inspired in the last like nine minutes. it's weird, really. kind of freaking me out.

anyway. i might be back on my letterpress kick. also, i'm feeling the urge to order calling cards again.

to go along with the link recently posted here (dogs of all kinds dancing around in people clothes! and doing people things!), i bring you these prints. they have been making the rounds on the blog circuit lately, but most recently at holly's plate.

go!

from what i've seen so far of the behnaz sarafpour line at target, this skirt has been my favorite and the most me.

it may be because i've had a huge (if i do say so myself) hard-on for purple lately, but i absolutely love it. i also picked up this top but haven't really made up my mind on it.

i tried on the little plum taffeta dress and thought it looked great, but i wasn't convinced my chest wouldn't pop out at first breath.

another thing i absolutely love but haven't seen in my store yet is this satin skirt. again, it's the color that does it for me. if i were minus 20 pounds what i am now, i'd be whoring this skirt out like nobody's business.

now, let's talk about when the next line will launch! rumor has it it will be proenza schouler? as if knowing will do me any good. i'll just look forward to the next... and the next... and the next. please tell me there will always be a next.

i'm back. with a vengeance.

i promise this is the end to my blogging absence. i blame it on being overworked, underpaid and generally displeased with most everything. all of that, i realize, is just how the real world is so i am choosing now to embrace it.

so i am back. with this great aluminum collator from canoe out of portland.

sofa, so good.

i decided today that what i need instead of big, scary sofa is this nice daybed from west elm. with a long bolster like shown and a bunch of pillows, i think this could easily make for primary seating in my living room. plus, it creates an extra, comfortably sized sleeping spot.

right to shoes.

sex and the city, anyone? anyone?

anyway. thanks to a long-awaited prescription refill, i am back after an unscheduled blogging hiatus. there's really no reason for my absence other than just a general feeling of, well, not feeling it.

i was tipped off to this many, many days ago and had kept it in my imaginery list of things to get my blog on about. those who know me know that i have a problem with shoe organization. this could be the solution to that problem. stacked shelf-style or continuous along a wall.

shoe rack
j-me, £45-75

the one.

i've been complaining for a good couple of years that i can't find a tall boot i really like. i mean, yes, i can find $800 boots i really like. but i can't find great boots i can actually afford.

BUT i just discovered this one, and i'm pretty convinced it's the boot i've been waiting for. dr. scholl's, of course, isn't quite synonomous with sexy shoe, but this one is an exception. i love it. it's exactly what i want... the color (a perfect tan), the heel (not too girly but not too butch), the wide band at the top (which, ideally, will fit around my calves). love. and the price? quite right.

apparently piperlime is the latest online venture by gap inc. it's supposed to officially launch nov. 1, but my boots are sitting in my basket just waiting for payday. with free shipping, to boot!

in all, it's a very nice-looking site that's easy to navigate and might have just replaced zappos.com in my book.

help build a nest.

i came upon nest via this morning's daily candy. it's apparently nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to supporting women artists around the world.

the money generated from their line of featured designers' wares is magically turned into loans to help others launch their own crafty ventures. a novel endeavor. if that made little to no sense, read more here.

this enamel swallow necklace is reversible (!) and is a sweet blue on one side and a chocolatey brown on the other. by flora and fawn.

mrs. peacock in the ____ with the ____.

i've had a fascination with all things peacock for a while now.

aside from this t-shirt, i also am really loving these posted at oh joy! the gold leaf inside the votive holder is especially appealing.

not like clue has anything to do with that... but it is my favorite game.
