go!

from what i've seen so far of the behnaz sarafpour line at target, this skirt has been my favorite and the most me.

it may be because i've had a huge (if i do say so myself) hard-on for purple lately, but i absolutely love it. i also picked up this top but haven't really made up my mind on it.

i tried on the little plum taffeta dress and thought it looked great, but i wasn't convinced my chest wouldn't pop out at first breath.

another thing i absolutely love but haven't seen in my store yet is this satin skirt. again, it's the color that does it for me. if i were minus 20 pounds what i am now, i'd be whoring this skirt out like nobody's business.

now, let's talk about when the next line will launch! rumor has it it will be proenza schouler? as if knowing will do me any good. i'll just look forward to the next... and the next... and the next. please tell me there will always be a next.

i'm back. with a vengeance.

i promise this is the end to my blogging absence. i blame it on being overworked, underpaid and generally displeased with most everything. all of that, i realize, is just how the real world is so i am choosing now to embrace it.

so i am back. with this great aluminum collator from canoe out of portland.

leica love.

i'm fairly certain i just fell in love with this camera in less than 4 seconds.

a pretty nice 10mp camera for the price.

sofa, so good.

i decided today that what i need instead of big, scary sofa is this nice daybed from west elm. with a long bolster like shown and a bunch of pillows, i think this could easily make for primary seating in my living room. plus, it creates an extra, comfortably sized sleeping spot.

right to shoes.

sex and the city, anyone? anyone?

anyway. thanks to a long-awaited prescription refill, i am back after an unscheduled blogging hiatus. there's really no reason for my absence other than just a general feeling of, well, not feeling it.

i was tipped off to this many, many days ago and had kept it in my imaginery list of things to get my blog on about. those who know me know that i have a problem with shoe organization. this could be the solution to that problem. stacked shelf-style or continuous along a wall.

the one.

i've been complaining for a good couple of years that i can't find a tall boot i really like. i mean, yes, i can find $800 boots i really like. but i can't find great boots i can actually afford.

BUT i just discovered this one, and i'm pretty convinced it's the boot i've been waiting for. dr. scholl's, of course, isn't quite synonomous with sexy shoe, but this one is an exception. i love it. it's exactly what i want... the color (a perfect tan), the heel (not too girly but not too butch), the wide band at the top (which, ideally, will fit around my calves). love. and the price? quite right.

apparently piperlime is the latest online venture by gap inc. it's supposed to officially launch nov. 1, but my boots are sitting in my basket just waiting for payday. with free shipping, to boot!

in all, it's a very nice-looking site that's easy to navigate and might have just replaced zappos.com in my book.

help build a nest.

i came upon nest via this morning's daily candy. it's apparently nonprofit organization that dedicates itself to supporting women artists around the world.

the money generated from their line of featured designers' wares is magically turned into loans to help others launch their own crafty ventures. a novel endeavor. if that made little to no sense, read more here.

this enamel swallow necklace is reversible (!) and is a sweet blue on one side and a chocolatey brown on the other. by flora and fawn.

mrs. peacock in the ____ with the ____.

i've had a fascination with all things peacock for a while now.

aside from this t-shirt, i also am really loving these posted at oh joy! the gold leaf inside the votive holder is especially appealing.

not like clue has anything to do with that... but it is my favorite game.

let them (me) eat cake.

food... something i love more than the random ephemera you'll normally find here, but something i definitely don't feature enough. so, thanks to holly's plate for tipping me off to sprinkles cupcakes and reminding me to give these little cakes some credit.

aside from their sweet site and storefront, this bakery out of beverly hills looks to have some seriously tasty stuff. and, through october, proceeds from their strawberry cupcakes will go toward women's cancer research.

unfortunately, they only deliver in the la area, but stores are to come in chicago, dallas (closest yay for me), las vegas, phoenix and the san francisco/bay area (definite yay for favorite friend holly).

AND, speaking of cake, it's t minus one week until marie antoinette. le yay for everyone.

cute, too.

how could you not want this little 'empathetic woodland creature'?

happiness is...

i found this book this weekend for my 18-month-old cousin, kylar. it's the cutest book ever and is so fun to look at, even if you are one of those types who hates peanuts with a passion (you know who you are).

it was so cute, in fact, that i came thisclose to keeping it for myself. there is even a page that reads: "happiness is finding out that you're not dumb after all" or something that i found to be equally hilarious.

anyway. it was cute, and i wanted to share. it's full of fun, vibrant pages and classic illustrations.
